The Republican Party, also known as Grand Old Party (GOP) is among the major two political parties in the USA. The Republican Party was founded in the year 1854, where it was formed as a coalition that was against slavery extension in the Western territories. The GOP's main aim was to oppose the Kansa-Nebraska act, whose main goal was to expand slavery into some territories in the US. This party at that moment was supporting the classical liberalism, supported economic reforms as well opposing slavery expansion. Through the actions of this party, which was under the leadership of Abraham Lincoln, in 1865, slavery was burned in the USA, making it a more significant milestone of the party achievement. The republican main rival party is the democrats, which is the oldest. In the early stages of the party’s life, it consisted of business people, factory workers, farmers, white protestants, and also the African –Americans. After 1964 and 1965 politics and of civil rights act and voting rights acts, the powers of a party shifted to certain strongholds like the states in the south became a stronghold and a very reliable source of republican votes while the states in the North became the democrat's stronghold. They support a tax decrease, a steady-state defense, deregulating, and restrictions facing labor unions, capitalism in the free market. And the rights associated with guns. It is a socially conservative party since it strongly opposes the right to abort and advocates for a traditional economic policy (Wagna, 2007). The party has had 19 different presidents and emerged victorious in the recent presidential elections in 2016, where President Donald Trump worn against his fiercest rival from the democrats Hillary Clinton.

The party was not absorbed from another party but came to existence after the democrats were established. The founding father of the party is Abraham Lincoln. It was first referred to As GOP and later changed to republican as it championed for the freedom of the slaves. The party has had many candidates who have vied for many seats, including the presidency, gubernatorial, and even senate. Some of the notable candidates include Donald tramp, Mike Huckabee, John McCain, George Bush, and, most recently, Ben Carson.

The future of the party is still bright, and its ideologies are being embraced and liked by many. The heavy backing from its strongholds makes it a symbol of the people and a direct influence on the people's choice. The party has got more than 18 presidents, and that number is likely to increase .it has even assumed leadership in governors since it has more governors compared to the democrats. The party is still relevant currently and in the future as it is advocating for uniform taxation, and the rules governing immigration and the improvement of border security are appealing to many .they also support massive military funding.

The impacts of the elections have been different depending on who emerges the winner in the polls. In the most recent elections where the Republicans have been developing, winners have depended on the electoral college despite losing on the popular vote. In the elections of 2016, Donald tramp lost in the popular votes by about 2.8 million to Hillary Clinton in the electoral college, President Donald trump emerged a victor and declared the president-elect by winning in the electoral college by garnering 304 votes out of 538. Again in the year 2000. President George W. Bush emerged the victor in the electoral college by collecting 271/538 votes. This trend has been making law implementers and the senate to discuss if it is possible to amend the election rules to entitle individuals voting rights and be able to determine the winner. They are advocating for one man one vote for which it will count. Donald tramp was a critic of the existence of the electoral college, but after winning, he has not been criticizing it. Regarding changing the way a president is has been facing an up task since when one wins even if he were a critic, he would offer support. In the elections, the electorates tend to elect occupants of different offices, mayors, governess, and representatives in the senate. During the electioneering period or the expiry of the four-year term of a president, the those who wish to be elected are nominated, and he or he appoints a vice or a running mate who will become the vice president under the president who will be elected. The main candidates in the previous elections have been John McCain, Mitt Romney, Ben Carson, George bush who eon the polls in 2000, Donald tramp who won the 2016 elections despite never having sat in a political office prior being elected a president (Sarat,2007). The future of the party is still strong and not predictable. The republicans stand on taxes, issues on abortion, government spending, and foreign policies are appealing hence having substantial backing. At the same time, there are those I democrats who might support the ideologies and beliefs of the republicans. Also, the party sometimes enjoys the support of non-partisan members, especially the independent. The party has a significant influence, especially in elections, despite the democrats having a more substantial number of the population and membership. Democrats sometimes do emerge victorious by having strong support and control of the electoral college.

The republican party has been acting rivalry with the democrats in various matters. They differ in their social ideas and also human ideas since the republican’s advocate and stands for the ideas as based on the rights of individuals and justice. The party looks at social plans based on the justice and powers of a person or an individual. This differs from the rival party stands in which they see the idea as a communal and social responsibility (Sarat,2013). Republicans have been in constant disagreement with the Democrats, especially when the democrats emerge victorious in elections of the president. The republicans fight for an increment in budgeting and government spending in matters of the military. They want a strong early, which would conquer in case of a war. The army is known to [protect the country's sovereignty against external attacks and is also deployed in war zones to bring peace and stability. It is interesting to note that democrats support those marriages since it is right for anyone. Still, some members of the democrats also support the republicans in opposing those marriages. some republicans also differed with their party members on their sensitive issue of gay marriages. They hence tended to shift their support and lean towards the democrats. The other difference in ideology ids the different support and stance on questions regarding abortion. The Republicans see it as a wrong and advocate for it to be made illegal in the US. Their stance is that abortion should not be legalized but should be legalized in some situations and circumstances. The party stands seem to oppose the Roe V. Wade stand on the abortion while the democrats tend to support and state that it should remain legal. In the issues regarding the death sentence as a penalty, the majority of the party supporters are supportive. The aim of supporting this death penalty is to reduce the chances of the crimes being committed by causing fear among the potential crime perpetrators (Laone, Dba, & Laone,2012). There is a contradicting stance r regarding the sovereignty of an individual's right to live and the death penalty. When one faces a death penalty, his bound to be denied the right to life, and at the same time, the penalty is needed to bar and reduce the chances of committing serious crimes like murders and armed robberies. The party has managed to attract some of the democrats who oppose the death sentence and penalty who constitute a substantial fraction in their support base. The Republicans have taken a stand on issues regarding taxes in which they favor a flat fee which states that taxation should be on the same rate regardless of once social class or income. The party tends to advocate and fight against an ever-increasing rate of taxation. The stance on taxation by the democrats is somehow progressive, which tends to tax higher those who earn more and tax less those who earn less. The Republicans see this as discriminative hence tend to support a uniform tax rate across all citizens. According to the republicans, they generally oppose the ever raising taxes by the government which can be interpreted but the democrats as a way to cripple of affect the government incomes and spending since with little income projects and would be halted while also rendering it impossible for the government to finance the essential projects. The rival party could interpret this as a means to achieve a political millage by making the democrats fail and disagree with the citizens that they are being exploited and taxed more.

They have a firm stand on government regulation, which also differs from the stance taken by democrats. The democrats have an idea that consumers need to be protected against possible exploitation by suppliers and business people. Consumer protection is necessary since they can be exploited easily by buying at higher prices as a result of business people acting unethically by creating artificial shortages in what is known as hoarding. Again protection is necessary to foodstuffs and medicines since, without regulation, consumers can be sold low-quality goods and substandard commodities which would impact negatively on their health. The republicans see that that regulation would cripple the free market, which can determine the demand and supply hence coming with an equilibrium price. The Democrats side with capitalism in which they see as a means and tool to create jobs and solve unemployment issues. The party advocates for a free and unregulated market for economy growth (Laone, Dba, & Laone,2012). According to the republicans, they see the private sector as very capable of offering better health care services and policy. They tend to criticize and undermine the ability of the government to run health care and policy programs efficiently. The party was also a significant critique of Obama care and its provisions and features. They oppose the needed requirement of the Obama care to which needed an individual to buy health care insurance or have to pay a fine and the essential element of coverage of contraceptives. The criticism the universal health care and Obama care. some of the republicans criticize the Obama care due to the idea came from a different political wing while other reasons could be a need to gain political mileage and make the private companies act as service providers who are better off more than the government. Another reason for not supporting Obama's care is political antagonism.

Republicans stand on issues, and matters regarding migration and immigration differ from those of the democrats. The republicans view the immigrants as capable of threatening the security of the state due to terrorism. Some come to America to enjoy what has been built by others and increase the rate of unemployment. They see the immigration rules as a loophole that denied Americans chances of being employed and an increase in crime rates since they don't have a chance to earn a living due to competition.

They act against and do not stand for undocumented immigration and amnesty (Wagna,2007). They oppose strongly Obama's executive order putting a moratorium on issues regarding the deportation of certain workers. The fund for stronger enforcement actions within the border. The party has also created some tougher condition s to allow political asylum in the US, and even deportation of lawbreakers has been made possible without much effort. The party does not agree with the undocumented immigrant's privileges like being given or allowed American citizenship by merely living in the US for a period exceeding five years and having no criminal record. The party has a strong and well-rooted influence in several states like Texas, Kansas, and Oklahoma

The republican party currently enjoys the majority in the Senate, where they have 53 seats out of possible 100. The current leader in the senate of the republicans in Mitch McConnell and the chairman of the party is Ronna Romney McDaniel (Sarat,2013). The party also has had influential and adored presidents and other politicians who have stood for the presidency. Some of the famous presidents who left big marks in their leadership and were members of the republicans’ party include Richard Nixon, Teddy Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan, Abraham Lincoln, the founder of the party, and George Bush. In the house of representatives, the party has a considerable representation of 200 out of a possible 435 vacancies. Some have vied for the presidency or even didn't make through the nomination process of the party, and they include famous figures like Ted Cruz, Ben Carson, Marco Rubio, Chris Christie, and Jeb Bush.

Republican is among the oldest parties in the US and gained prominence after the election of Abraham Lincoln. The party has been enjoying great support, especially from the whites in states like Texas, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. The party was against slavery fought for the economic reforms in which they demand a uniform taxation formula, unlike the progressive mode or formula used by the democrats. The party is against social irresponsibility like gay marriages and does support the termination of life via death penalties and sentencing. In economic stance, the party is known to fight for financial freedom in which there is freedom of buying and selling without the market being regulated by the federal government. They believe that the unregulated market will improve the economy of the country while also increase jobs. Unemployment is a significant issue that can be tackled and solved via a free market, according to the party. The party also stands opposite the rival party antagonistically by wanting abortion to be illegalized but should be allowed in certain circumstances like when the life of the mother is in danger or when the pregnancy is from a rape. Also, conditions that serve as exemptions for abortion in by the party include a deformed unborn baby or cases of ectopic pregnancy or even when the mother cannot handle the pregnancy due to a specific ailment. The party has great support, and many of the figures associated with the party are also popular in which some have become presidents, others did not make to the election, and they failed to win in the party preliminaries. Some of the famous figures associated with having had an impact on the party include Ronald Reagan, Chris Christie, John McCain, Michael Huckabee, George Bush, Abraham Lincoln, and Ben Carson. People like Donald Trump and George Bush won the presidency despite losing in the popular vote. They gained victories via the electoral college.
