The purpose of this assignment is to identify a specific career in the field and identify a leader within. By conducting ( two) 2 personal interviews, you will gather specific information regarding the individual’s position, leadership style and the organization as a whole.

· Choose a facility or organization of your choice.

· Make an appointment to interview an individual that is classified Management or Leadership within the facility/organization.

· Introduce yourself as a UA student conducting an investigative paper; ask to make an appointment for 10-15 minutes of their time. Ideally, interviews will be conducted in person but is not required.

· The following questions must be asked and included in your written report. In addition ask 4 questions of your own.

· Overview and type of agency: private, public, etc. and why?

· General organizational structure of agency?

· Mission, vision and goals of agency?

· Person interviewed, background, education, certifications

· Requirements to be qualified for position.

· Specific job responsibilities

· Salary range?

· Opportunities for advancement?

· Does the organization have a student internship program?

· Leadership style? (motivation, communication, reinforcement)

· Challenges of being a leader?

· Areas of conflict in the workplace?

· Your overall perception/experience with individual interviewed
