Macroeconomics Coursework Deadline: Thursday 30th of November 2017 (Worth 20% of overall module mark). Write an essay (maximum 1800 words) on the following questions:

How may the pound’s depreciation affect the UK economy?

The aim of this assessment is to assess your ability to use critically and precisely economic

theory and evidence. Your essay should be submitted electronically to the relevant coursework

blackboard and hard-copy in the designated area as well, no later than 15:00 on Thursday

30th of November 2017:

Students will need to do their own research in order to achieve a good grade. Higher marks

will be awarded to essays making considered use of appropriately referenced work. A good

essay will almost certainly contain a clear description of relevant theory. A useful further

consideration is the implications of the theory for policy. Where appropriate, diagrams, facts

and tables can often be a good addition to an economics essay.

The assignment should be written in essay format. The assignment should be 1,800 words

(Excess writing will be disregarded). The assignment must be typed and pages should be

double-sided and stapled together (top left hand corner). The assignment will contribute

20% to your final grade. The FINAL version of the assignment MUST be handed in at INTO

reception and a signature obtained for its submission by 15.00 on Thursday 30th of November

2017. Any student who fails to hand in the work by this time will lose marks. You should hand

in ONE copy of the assignment. You will also need to SEND an electronic copy of your essay

to the teacher using blackboard and make sure you tick box safe assign prior your final

submission.

The assignment should include: A cover page with your student number (not name), your

group, the title of the essay and the date that you hand it in and word count for your essay as

well.

The assignment structure must include: Introduction (purpose of assignment and methodology) Body Paragraphs (your analysis

and examples put into a coherent argument using diagrams to support your answer)

Conclusion (your final evaluation that flows from your work) References (do not rely mostly

on web sources, more weightage will be given to academic articles).

Students should bear in mind that plagiarism (copying material from the internet or texts

without referencing or copying from other students) will result in an automatic FAIL (0%).
