The Policy for Women and Children

The policy for women and children is an essential part of social welfare policy. It is

aimed at protecting the rights of women and children, who are often the most vulnerable

members of society. This policy seeks to ensure that women and children have access to basic

needs such as health care, education, and employment opportunities. Despite the importance of

this policy, there are still some problems that need to be addressed.

One of the main problems with the policy for women and children is that it often lacks

implementation. Although many governments have enacted laws and policies to protect women

and children, these policies are not always effectively implemented. This can be due to a lack of

resources, insufficient training of government officials, and corruption. According to a report by

the United Nations, although numerous countries have established legislation and policies with

the goal of advancing gender equality and safeguarding the well-being of women and children,

their effectiveness is deficient in several regions. (Women U.N., 2020).

Another problem with the policy for women and children is that it often fails to address

the root causes of gender-based violence and discrimination. Many policies focus on providing

immediate relief to victims of violence and abuse but do not address the underlying causes of this

violence. For example, policies that provide shelter and medical care to women who have

experienced domestic violence may not address the patriarchal attitudes that contribute to this

violence in the first place. In order to prevent and tackle violence against women and children in

an efficient manner, policies and programs need to focus on dealing with the fundamental

reasons behind such violence. These causes may include gender inequality and damaging gender

norms (Women U.N., 2020).
