RE:      Project 1: Deliverable 3, Transducer Choice

*Intro paragraph (Alana)

*Bullet list of the criteria used in the pairwise matrix with a short (one or two sentences) explaining why this criteria is important., minimum of four criteria

Criteria: (one maybe two sentences that explain importance of criteria. Keep it simple and to the point)

· Criteria 1 - Cost:

· Factoring in cost would be a good idea.

· Criteria 2 - Temperature range:

· Range of measurements does not need to include extreme temperatures.

· Criteria 3 - Accuracy:

· Criteria 4 - Product Availability: There are only a limited supply of transducers, did anyone write down the numbers?

*The pairwise matrix 1 = equal, 3 = moderate, 5 = strong, 7 = very strong, 9 = extreme

(We just need to enter whole numbers in the top triangle of the matrix)

*Summary of the pairwise matrix- how did we decide that one criteria was than the other.

*Bullet list of the transducer considered with a brief description of each one (four minimum)

See Note at bottom, when we are researching the cost of each transducer we need to report that on a separate page called an Appendix. This list is just a brief description of the Transducer. Mr. Sharber said to keep descriptions simple and to the point.

· Transducer 1: AD 592 (Alana)

· Transducer 2: B57164K103J (Alana)

· Transducer 3: LM34 (Chris)

· Transducer 4: LM334 (Khaled)

· Transducer 5: LM335 (Chris)

· Transducer 6: LM61 (Khaled)

· Transducer 7: TMP04 (Chris)

· Transducer 8: TMP37 (Khaled)

*The decision matrix with indication of scale (we could do the same as before 1-5, 5 being the best)

*Summary of the decision matrix- why did we choose the number that we did?

*Summary- summary of the whole report, comment on all the parts… Chris what else did Mr. Sharber say about the summary?  Make sure you have reasoning for everything that you do. Keep it uncluttered and to the point.

Attachments: (I spoke with Mr. Sharber about the appendix, he wants one appendix per transducer, see note below.)

Appendix A: AD 592

Appendix B: B57164K103J

Appendix C: LM34

Appendix D: LM334

Appendix E: LM335

Appendix F: LM61

Appendix G: TMP04

Appendix H: TMP37

Note:  If you use the cost of the transducer as a criteria in your decision matrix:

·       Lookup the cost from somewhere on the internet for 10 pieces (Digikey, Mouser, Allied Electronics, Newark, etc.)

·       Be sure the device is in the TO-92 package

·       Report the cost and the source (vendor and vendor part number)  in an appendix to the memo

·       A good way to incorporate the cost into the decision matrix is to normalize the cost of the different devices.  Or you could just assign the value of 1 to the most expensive and 5 to the cheapest, or something similar.  If you normalize the cost correctly, I will award the team five bonus points on the assignment.  (Study slides 12, 13 and 17 in the Appendix B PowerPoint.)

This is the paper that we are working on I just need you to do my part including the information from the document that I uploaded.

I need it clean and the titles are included so I can know what is what thank you.
