Well Done! Trans. Excellent use of transition word/phrase to connect your thoughts and ideas from one sentence and or paragraph to the next.

Effective transition The connections between your idea is made clear with this transitional phrase. Look for other areas of your essay that could use a transition.

Comment 6

Who is their? You need to be specific and discuss the specific theorists, go back to your thesis and focus on the theories and concepts:)

Comment 7

Be more specific here, Wundt founded a distinct and separate field of science, this is what is important

Connect ideas effectively Make the relationships between your ideas more clear. Try to use transitional phrases like "as a result," "despite," or "therefore" to show how your ideas connect.

Pass the ball Pass the ball with a transition. A transition, like "because" or "similarly," should be used to help make connections between and among ideas.

Revise for clarity To increase the focus throughout your essay, clearly explain to your audience how this point connects to your thesis.

Comment 8

What kind of developments? Be specific

Paraphrase ideas This section is very similar to another source or existing content. Paraphrase by writing the statement in your own words and adding a citation.

Helpful transition Nice work incorporating this transitional phrase. You may also want to consider advanced phrases (like "hence" or "subsequently") that will elevate your language and connections when writing.

Comment 9

He was not from the US, he was from Germany

Comment 10

You have not discussed Wundt up to this point, so begin first with Wundt and then follow with

Titchener

Comment 11

What were the concepts? Titchener broke away from German psychology under Wundt, in Germany and then brought his ideas to the US

Organize ideas Organizing your ideas into a recognizable structure helps your readers follow your writing. Make sure all parts of your essay are organized clearly.

Strikethrough.

Excellent!

Comment 13

Why are these important? Leave out these theories/concepts if you are not going to define and describe these. See assignment instructions

Strikethrough.

Revise last sentence Revise this sentence so it effectively concludes this paragraph. The last sentence of each paragraph should finalize the points that were discussed in that paragraph.

Strikethrough.

Focus on position Historians stay focused on defending their claims. This part doesn't seem to be as strongly connected. Consider revising this or other parts of your essay that stray from your claim.

Comment 16

See assignment instructions, you are to focus on only the most important theorists from Chapter 4 & 5.

Strikethrough.

How do I paraphrase another author? Paraphrasing is a skill that is developed through practice in writing. Paraphrasing is important so that you can demonstrate your learning and understanding of the course materials or other research. When you paraphrase you are letting your reader know that you have read the required materials and that you are able to and critically think about and summarize what you have learned. While it may be true that in bible courses it wouldn't be appropriate to paraphrase Jesus's words, so directly quoting the Bible may be more appropriate; in the social sciences paraphrasing is necessary as it is not the author's voice that is important, but rather your voice and interpretation of another author's work that matters more. Check out this link for how to paraphrase, there are many good tips at the website. http://writing.wisc.edu/Handbook/QPA_paraphrase2.html

Comment 18

All of this info should be discussed under Wundt first and then Titchener

Well Done! Trans. Excellent use of transition word/phrase to connect your thoughts and ideas from one sentence and or paragraph to the next.

Mashup This writing appears to be a "mashup" of copied content from multiple sources. "Mashup" plagiarism occurs when there is almost no original work. Paraphrase or quote copied content and be sure to include original ideas.

Comment 19

What do you mean by this? Put into your own words

Comment 20

I understand where you are going, but this all needs to be put into your own words and applied to a real world setting so that I can know how you understand this information

Hello Cherie, To start, I am very happy that you cited your sources, this is a good start!! It is going to take though, reading your textbook in your classes so that you can write a paper that is in your own words and demonstrates your learning and understanding of the course materials for the week. You can do this! Please check out the links that I gave in this paper and also that I sent in my emails. Especially pay attention to how to paraphrase.

The most important area to work on next, is to read your assignment instructions carefully--I notice that this is an area where you are missing points. If you need me to clarify then text me or call me and I am happy to help. Read all my emails and announcements, because I often include important info related to the assignment. Also, avoid turning your work in days early, it is not working as far as understanding the course materials. Each class should be 14-17 hours worth the homework a week-- so it is like having another full time job. You can do this. Reach out to me with any questions!
