The importance of choosing a theoretical framework to conduct high-quality research in human services
The United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) is a United Nations Agency that is responsible for the provision of the humanitarian and development aid for children in the entire world. The process of researching child abuse and neglect by these organizations requires an effective theoretical framework. Theories are important in providing a conceptual bases that are used for the analysis, understanding, and formulation of the methods utilized in the investigation of the relationships within a system. A theoretical framework is important in the prescription of the critical research questions that need answers to help in the optimization of the process of understanding the issue (Arrogate & Aparicio-Zaldivar, 2017).
The importance of the theoretical frameworks in conducting scientific research in the human services arena
The theoretical framework is used in the scientific as a guide for the development of the effective interventions of care. In human service organizations like UNICEF, the use of the theoretical framework in the research helps in guiding actions thus making such actions more rational and well informed and resulting in efficient and successful services. This helps in ensuring that there are effective solutions to dealing with the challenges being encountered concerning child abuse and neglect (van Breda, 2016).
Choose and Explain the theoretical framework that offers concepts that can be considered in addressing the issues in a human service organization
One of the theoretical frameworks is the resilience framework that helps in the process of identifying the trauma among the workers and offering strategies that assists in coping with traumatic events. However, this framework has not been fully implemented in human services. The resilience framework is helping in strengthening the mental status of the employees in human services. The successful function of human service workers requires their well-being. This is important in ensuring that there is the psychological well-being of the staff as humanitarian workers who are involved in the long working hours, management of the emergencies, security constraints, and occasional transitions. The issue of mental health stigmatization is preventing human service staffs from seeking psychosocial support. The stigmatization is linked to the fear of judgement and feeling that failure to reach out is likely to affect their career (Arrogate & Aparicio-Zaldivar, 2017).
The theoretical framework constituting a platform for possible change required in the selected human service organization
The best framework constituting a platform for change is the pre-and post-deployment resilience consultation program. This is a structured and pro-active strategy that helps staff before, during, and after deployment to the stressful environment. In the framework, the individuals take part in the 45- or 60-minutes pre-deployment resilience consultation. The confidential consultations are designed to assists in reviewing the workers' potential vulnerability to the traumatic stress, individual hardiness and resilience, and helping the employees in the development of a self-care plan (van Breda, 2016).
How the selected framework is relevant in the human serviced organization
The humanitarian job in organizations such as UNICEF is more complex and sometimes it presents major challenges to the workers. The physical and mental well-being of the workers might be affected and this needs some form of reinforcement to ensure that the activities are successfully carried out. These workers, therefore, requires ongoing reinforcement resilience to ensure that they receive psychosocial support. The resilience framework is therefore important in ensuring that there is stability in the workforce thus resulting in a stronger organization (van Breda, 2016).
