In this week the student will begin the long-term process of the search for knowledge. The desire to integrate practice behaviors into practice is sound and reasonable; however, the process is more complex than it sounds. Each professional will develop a process for searching for and assessing evidence and value based practice theory and scientific discover. However there are some key components of the process that should be consistent to all researchers. In this week the student will begin developing personal research habits and discover vital components to the process.

Assignment:

Researching Theory and Scientific Knowledge - Write a 1500-1700 word essay addressing each of the following points/questions. Support your ideas with at least three (3) scholarly citations in your essay. Use strict APA guidelines to format the paper. The cover page and reference page do not count towards the minimum word amount and an abstract and table of contents are not necessary and if included are not part of the overall word count.

Using the three methods you identified in the discussion for this week, develop a specific, detailed step-by-step process you will use to find knowledge available in the body of knowledge for the industry. Describe where and how you will find the information. Discuss what you found in the search. Explain how you will determine if the research you find is appropriate or inappropriate to use in developing a practice implementation model.
