Look for one particular social issue that Paul brings up. (Ex. sexual behaviors, divorce, marriage, homosexuality, widows, poor, addiction(drunkenness), eating idol food, etc.…)
Prompt: How was this social issue a problem during the time of this letter? How did it affect the early church community? How does the Christian Church (Protestant/“non-Roman Catholic” or Roman Catholic) understand this issue today? What are your opinions?
Outline Help For Paper:
Intro- What is the social issue and where in the letter is it found?
Paragraph(s)- On How the social issue seems to be an issue in that time (based on scripture and research)
Paragraph(s) -On Where the Christian Church understands or falls on the issue today. (Protestant or Roman Catholic)
Paragraph(s) – On your thoughts and opinions (based on your research)
Conclusion- Summarize and what is one question you would want to dig deeper on.
Hint: Only opinion-base is the last paragraphs and conclusion. The rest should be research- based.
