THE FALLACY RELIES UPON CONTEXT FOR ITS EFFECT: WHEN SOME OF THESE PRESUPPOSITIONS ARE NOT AGREED TO BY THE PERSON BEING ASKED, THE QUESTION BECOMES FALLACIOUS.

• LOOKS FOR A MIDDLE WAY BETWEEN TWO OPTIONS THAT ARE SET UP AS EXTREMES (AND THEREFORE, UNACCEPTABLE. IT CLAIMS THAT BOTH SIDES HAVE GONE TOO FAR, AND THAT THE SOLUTION MUST BE IN THE MIDDLE.
