The Nature of International Organization Design

Introduction

RMCF is a company that focuses on expansion continuously. However, the company had been expanding within its domestic boundaries, and now there was the consideration of international development. Before settling on the country in which the company would grow, proper management had to been implemented since the company was experiencing limited financial and human resources. As such, the company was planning on expanding its business to Brazil.

Brazil is among the areas that fit the specific goals and the strategic plan of the company. According to the CFO of the company, there was the contemplation of expanding into several countries such as India, Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China, among others. Therefore, by expanding into the Brazilian market, it would open avenues of expanding into the mentioned countries. This is the case because, according to (Smith, 2020), the establishment of commercial presence in Brazil accords firms the opportunity of accessing other countries within the region, and it permits organizations to utilize the strategic trade agreements. Furthermore, Brazil is part of the Southern Common Market known as MERCOSUR. Their objectives include free movement of goods and services via the doing away of customs duties and non-tariff restrictions.

Additionally, there was integrated legislation that facilitated businesses and individuals operating across the member countries of MERCOSUR. There is also the BRICS trade group comprising of Russia, India, China, Brazil, and South Africa. The purpose of this trade group is the promotion of cooperation and open trade initiatives in the coming years. As such, by expanding into Brazil, RMCF will benefit from free trade initiatives in the years to come, and it will be easier for the company to further expand its goods and services to countries such as China and India. The other advantage of Brazil is that a large consumer market characterizes it. As such, the company is likely to make profits since the market size is enormous and diverse as well.

Techniques for Control

The techniques of control utilized by RMCF include financial statements, budgetary control, Direct Supervision and Observation, and Return on Investment. According to (Akrani, 2011), financial statements involve the preparation of Profit and loss accounts. As such, it provides a summation of income and expenses over a given period. They are generally utilized in controlling the organization. Concerning budgetary control, it involves carrying out managerial control via budgets.

On the other hand, Return on Investment usually aids businesses in determining the performance of a business. It typically indicates the areas that require correction measures. Consequently, the techniques utilized by the company go hand in hand with the company’s plan of expanding its franchises. This is because, with a control technique like Return on Investment, for instance, the company will be in a position to monitor the performance of the business from time to time. In addition to that, it will simplify the process of problem identification—furthermore, the budgetary control assists in ensuring proper budgeting, a technique that facilitates expansion.

Report to the Vice President of RMCF

Regarding the anticipated expansion of RMCF into the international market, there is a close relationship with the company’s control techniques and the strategies for expanding the franchises. One of the expansion strategies the application of limited capital resources cautiously. This would only be possible through the utilization of budgetary control. This control technique will assist in the proper allocation of funds, thus, limiting misuse of funds in the process of expansion. Secondly, a control technique such as Return on Investment would play a vital role in the expansion plans. This is because it will offer guidance on how the business would turn out when the expansion plans are executed. Consequently, due to the company’s limited capital resources, it would be advisable for the company to expand to a country such as Brazil since it has a vast market, and the cost of expansion would be relatively cheap more so if the company collaborates with a Brazilian. Expanding into the Brazilian market will open other opportunities for development to other countries.

In conclusion, it evident that expanding to new markets is not an easy task. As such, it requires adequate planning and utilization of appropriate techniques to select a suitable demand ??? for the goods and services offered by a company.

Initial Postings:

If the assignment asks for specific issues to be addressed, such as “4 Advantages and 2 Obstacles”, for example, please highlight these clearly in your paper using formatting similar to this:

Advantage #1:

Advantage #2:

Obstacle #1:

Remember that run-on sentences and lots of text make for difficult reading. Strategic use of white space, bolding, bulleting, and other formatting techniques help make your writing “easy on the eye”.

I would also recommend having someone else proof-read your writing before posting. Usage, grammar, spelling, and syntax errors are far too common. At minimum, run a spell-check.

FYI: In business communication, brevity is prized…so don’t use 10 words where 5 will do. Remember, it’s not how much you say that counts…it’s what you say. Do not confuse a long paper with a good paper.

Re-submissions:

After your first submission, I will make comments on the file in a different color font, usually red. I will then re-post the file for your review.

Should you decide to address my comments to earn a better grade, you can simply make further edits to my already-edited file and re-submit. Your edits should be in another color font or highlighted somehow (so I can easily locate them).

I will then re-grade, based on your edits.
