This project along with the final exam will allow you to demonstrate the reading and writing skills you have developed in this course. That is why you are given so much time to complete this assignment.

This project will be all original but will be based on material that you have worked on already in this course. Feel free to use something that you have already done and change it to fit the topic.

The Topic

You will choose a character (a person alive or fictional) for this assignment, any celebrity or expert in a field of your choice. Please run your selection by me first.

Your portfolio will need ALL of the following:

1. A newspaper article about your celebrity from a pretend Canadian online newspaper take an article that you have done already and change it to incorporate the name of the character you have mentioned. The article should be at least 500 words long.

2. An opinion paragraph (pretend that your character/person is commenting in response to a particular issue that you should indicate) in 75 words.

3. Read a strong and reliable article related to the character and provide a link and summary (75+ words) of each article that you used.

4. Create a list style (Top Ten reasons that...) text about your celebrity... 5. A cover of a textbook about your celebrity using graphic elements. Please realize that a textbook is used

to inform and educate, so the image should be professional but inviting. 6. A letter to the Editor about or by your celebrity. (300 words max) indicate which publication it is for and

the expectations that this publication has for these letters. 7. A References page. Please include a page of where you found your information used in your project. 8. All drafts for your work, including proofreading comments from peers or others.
