IMPORTANT OTHER REMINDERS:
4. This journal is to be sent via the internal blackboard email. You
must send it as a single attachment. It can be sent in a single word,
rich text, or pdf style document. You can also just copy and paste it
into the blackboard message box too. DONOT send it as a Google
Drive Link, Apple Pages, or other such link/format that cannot be
opened via a normal PC on blackboard, and if you do this you will
not get credit for the assignment. DO NOT send it to my outside
email address, and if you do this you will not get credit for the
assignment. I must be able to open and read your journal. If I cannot
you will get a zero. It is your responsibility to assure the journal is
sent in the proper manner in all regards.
5. Here is an example of how to format your Assignment:
Journal Topic One: (Title of website source being reviewed)
Your Journal Entry for the 1st website source:
This should include a good 200 to 300 long word review of what you
observe about the research website for topic one. Discuss how it
comes across to you historically and what stands out about it in
terms of lessons, historical conclusions, and intriguing information.
Also consider some of the aforementioned questions:
Does the site offer lectures or videos?
Does it offer helpful historical documents?
Does it seem to be easy to read over and find information on?
What is the best part of the website in terms of research material in
your view?
*Simply repeat the above example for the 2 required entries*.
6. You should aim for keeping track of a word count for each entry.
Each review entry needs to be between 200 to 300 words. Since
there are 2 entries for this journal, it would be good to aim for
around 400 to 600 words for the entire series of entries. If you veer
to far over or under this range then your journal will likely lose
points!
7. I am glad to give rough draft feedback on this assignment via in
person conference, email, or phone call. I am also glad, after grades
are posted, to give post assignment feedback. These are both to be
done via student request via office visit, email, or phone. I also need
atleast 48 hours notice ahead of the assignment due date for any
rough draft requests.
8. TWO KEY THINGS TO RECALL: Do not plagiarize any part of
this assignment. Do not use quotes in this assignment. You should
make sure that you are using your own wording and in turn original
informed analysis on all portions of this assignment. If you have
questions on these two items then reach out to me for feedback!
9. Finally a failure to properly follow instructions on this handout
may result in a loss of points or a zero on the assignment!
