Why the film the experiment is unethical

The experiment is one of the most unethical movies of all time. In the movie, the volunteers arrive for a psychological study led by Dr. Archaleta in which the participants will be divided into two groups as the prisoners and the guards. Among them is Travis who played the main role in the movie and Michael Barris acted as the guard. After the interviews, the 26 people are selected who will live in the prison and the selected people are divided into the 6 guards and 20 prisoners. Travis was selected as the prisoner and Barris as the guard.

It will be an experiment of two weeks where the rules are set that if there is any violence than the behavioral experiment will be terminated.

Two days of the experiment passed nicely but after that the guards starting to behave like the prisoners are real criminals. The whole scene was changed into bullying of human character. The unethical behavior is shown by the guards because there is a scene in which Barris the warden violated the rules, he ordered the guard to put the face of Travis into the toilet. His head was shaved and he was physically abused badly. The guards starting to behave like animals, one of the guards tried to rape the prisoner which is not morally correct because the experiment has rules that there will be no violence but the guards started misbehaving with the prisoners. The filmmaker does not even bother to bring some actual sense to the screenplay. The film is encouraging brutality towards humans with all the characters in the movie. The prisoners are beating the guards and guards are beating the prisoners, the whole movie has the violation, beatings, and abuses. The movie can be criticized on the baseless love story of Travis and his

Girlfriend Bay who traveled to India. Travis also wanted to go there so he got ready for the unethical experiment. At the start the experiment has rules but the guards violated the rules because of which the experiment was not terminated. The movie is not morally correct because it follows the violence, beatings, murders, and rapes just to create suspense but it has no theme and a positive result at all. I took the movie as the collected look which represents that most of the characters do not want to live peacefully in jail. They are promoting violence and war situations for the guards and prisoners in real life. The behavior of the guards and prisoners striving to make a big statement about human nature in its most debased form, how we are “just animals”. Especially the unethical behavior of guards represents the worst qualities of a human.

Under Barris lead Travis is abducted, head shaved and urinated upon. The prisoners are shown as psychological patients when they bear the unethical behavior. Nix the cellmate of the Travis was sexually abused by one of the guards which are also against the rules of the prison. The whole movie is unethical because the behavior of the guards with prisoners is not acceptable in society. The movie is promoting that the criminals are meant to treat like animals but this is wrong because criminals also have their rights. There were many punishments were given to prisoners not even mentioned in the contract. The whole movie is unethical because it contains scenes of rapes, murders, killings and mental torture without any cause because the prisoners are not the criminals the scene was created just for an experiment and to earn money. The director represents a criminal organization in this movie that was built on intimidation, extortion, gang rapes and murders. The prisoners are forced to eat their food and they are forced to do pushups as punishment without any cause.
