Africa American
The purpose of the course project is to offer you (and one or more partners if you choose) an opportunity to select a topic, theme, event, author or period (pertaining of course to the Harlem Renaissance) and complete a project in the most creative and comprehensive way you can imagine. The guidelines for this project are extremely flexible and require that you remain within the scope of this course: African American literature, life and culture. Beyond that, you may select anything within this realm that you wish. This project IS NOT a Power Point or Prezi presentation with audio, IS NOT a speech or formal presentation per se. Instead, I would like for you to do something a bit more creative. Examples below include:
An extended lesson plan, on any aspect of the African American literature (you should be an Education Major to complete this properly)
An ongoing series of book talks, broadcasted using Periscope, or Stream or other Live Broadcasting service that archives your casts
A Live Internet Radio Broadcast using Anchor, Spreaker, or Mixlr, or ZCast, playing period music, commentary and or interesting tidbits of period contextual information during the broadcast (3 audio broadcasts minimum)
Create a digital timeline using an application like Tiki-Toki (https://www.tiki-toki.com/ ,or Timeline JS (http://timeline.knightlab.com/) making full use of the application (audio, video, links to Web Sites etc…)
Create an interactive video using an application like TouchCast(iPad), or Showbox, making full use of the application with overlays and multimedia
Create a multimedia video using an application like Videolicious, (email me if you want to use this app and I’ll invite you), or Adobe Spark Video
A Multimedia Project that incorporates elements of your life, interests, literature, art, poetry, a spoken word or rap piece, and technology, melding one or more of those interests into our study of African American literature, presented through a video or audio project that you construct (cool applications to use include http://videolicious.com contact me for an invite, http://yeplive.com , http://bambuser.com contact me for an invite…
An Augmented Reality project using a tool like: http://aurasma.comto augment an African American literature text, of your choosing, a series of paintings or other art upon which you wish to comment, or a visit to a museum that you wish to augment (African American oriented of course).
