The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has different departments integrated together to make one department with a common goal and mission of ensuring safety to the people of United States of America through cyber security, anti-terrorism, disaster management and prevention, border security and immigration. (Badey, Thomas. (2017).These agencies are; United States Coast Guard, Agency Administering and Enforcing U.S law through criminal investigations and law enforcement, Transportation Security Agency which ensures safety and freedom in transport department,, Immigration Services agency, Border Protection Agency, Secret Service Agency for handling the most top secret activities of the government, Federal Emergency Management Agency which works with the government in control and preparedness of natural or physical disasters such as earth quakes, floods, fires. Protective Mission Agency and Investigative Mission Agency. United States Customs and Borders Protection agency has a mission to enforce U.S laws of customs, trade and immigration such as, regulation of international trade and collection of imports duties. (In Logan, K. G. (2018).This is done through inputting measures which regulates products getting in and out of the country through proper screening, legal passes, and coming up with United States Coast Guard anti-terrorists rules. United States Coast Guard agency is a military doctorate which maintains maritime security through law enforcement, drugs and migrant interdiction, defense readiness and coastal security. The USCG has the responsibility to protect maritime environment, do maritime patrols and search rescues, maintain rivers and offshores.

Both of the agencies have the roles of ensuring security along the borders both nationally and internationally and prevent criminal or illegal; activities from getting in to the country hence both serving the purpose of safeguarding the people of United States of America.
