The Book of Eli

In my paper, I will write about the teachings in Genesis 1-3. God is the Creator in Genesis

1-2. Evil is written about in Genesis 3. The Bible talks about how to believe in God and how to

avoid evil. In Genesis 3, After God created Adam and Eve, “…the woman saw that the tree was

good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she

took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat”

(Genesis 3:6). Adam and Eve ate the fruit from the tree and their eyes were opened.

This movie was about the Bible. The guy who was in the movie was blinded since he born.

His name is Eli and he lived in the difficult world. Eli was looking for food between the trees,

and he found a cat, he tried to pretend being dead to catch the cat and his plan worked. When he

cooked the cat and ate it, the mouse came to him and he gave it some meat. After he finished

eating, he went outside to the town to fix the device of the music player. On his way to shop, he

found a woman, she was handcuffed to the cart. He went to help her, but it was trick. There were

four men that waited for him. The men wanted to steal from him and fight, but the Eli did not

want that. They tried to kill him, but he killed them all and let the woman be. Eli continued to

move to the shop to fix what he brought there.

After he fixed the device there was a guy who was bartender in the bar. Eli wanted some

water, but he did not have any money. So, he gave the bartender some stuff just to get some water.

The staff member accepted the deal and let the woman bring him some water. While Eli was

waiting for the water, there were people who tried to kill him. But, Eli killed them all.

When Eli killed them, Carnegie wanted to meet him in his office. Eli met him and Carnegie

gave him a room to stay in. Solara came to Eli in his room to give him some food. Then, she went

out of Eli’s room. Solara came again to Eli’s room while Eli was reading the book. She tried to get

close to him, but he did not want her to. So, he and tried hide the book underneath a blanket. Eli

tried to stop her, but she saw the book under the blanket. When she saw the book, Eli let her out

of his room. Solara went to Carnegie and tried to be silent, but she could not be silent because

Carnegie tried to killed her mother. While Carnegie knew that Eli had the book, he brought his

men. Eli ran out of his room and went to the shop to take back his fixed device. Carnegie and his

men followed him and would kill Eli if he would not give him the book.

Eli checked out about how many of the men were around him. When he checked,

everything about the men’s and snipper’s locations, he did not care about them. So, continued to

walk. The men shouted at him and he stayed behind the car and shot back at the men. When he

shot at them, he shot Carnegie in the knee. Then, Carnegie went and hid in his office. Eli continued

to walk and on his way. However, Solara followed him and wanted to be with him. When Eli and

Solara walked together. They got some rest. When they were ready to go, Eli let the woman inside

the cave room and locked it.

Eli went to the west and Solara followed him again. When Solara followed him, she

stopped to help a woman, but the woman lied. Then, there were men who took Solara to a tunnel

and they tried to do something to her. Suddenly, Eli came and killed the men with an arrow. Solara

was happy because Eli found her and got help. After that, Eli and Solara went to find a safe place.

They found a safe place in the middle of the desert. They went to a house and knocked at the door.

When they knocked at the door, the owner of the house dropped them into a hole in front

of the door. The owner and his wife checked them out and made sure they were not dangerous.

The owner and his wife helped them to get out of the whole and invited them inside the house.

After that, the wife brought them some coffee and had a little conversation with the before

Carnegie and his men came to the house. Carnegie and his men threatened Eli to bring the book to

them or they would shoot at the house. Eli did not listen to them, so they shot at the house. Eli

asked the owner if he had a gun. The owner said that he had some more guns inside of the couch.

The wife shot back at and got killed.

The owner got angry when he saw that his wife was dead. Then, he shot back at them and

killed some of them. But, in the end, he got killed too. Eli looked at the owner’s and the owner’s

wife’s dead bodies. Then, he gave up and threw the book out of the window to them, but it was a

bomb. After that Eli and Solara surrendered and went out to them with the book. Again, Carnegie

tried to get the book from Eli. Carnegie also put the gun to Solara’s head. Eli gave him the book

and Carnegie shot Eli in his chest. Then, Carnegie drove away in his car. When Carnegie got back

to the hotel, he had someone open the book for him.

Inside the car, there were two men with Solara. On the road, Solara strangled the driver

and killed the other man with Eli’s sword. Solara drove the car to Carnegie’s car and tried to kill

them, but it did not work. Solara drove back to Eli and she did not find him at the house. She drove

around and eventually found him walking on the road. She took him with her. Inside the car, Eli

treated himself for the bullet wound. He had all of the information about the book in his mind.

Then, Eli and Solara went to find someone who could write out all of the words from the book on

paper.

Eli’s speech before he fights Carnegie’s men in the bar is taken from Genesis 3:17-19. In this

passage, God expels Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden. Carnegie was evil in the movie

and tried to steal the book from Eli. But, God protected Eli from Carnegie. In Genesis 3,

“…when the woman saw that the tree was good for food…” Eve ate the fruit (Genesis 3:6).

Solara saw the book in Eli’s room, and she wanted that book.

After I watched the movie, I understood that God and evil are everywhere in the world. In

Genesis 1, God is the Creator of humans, animals, the sun, and the sky. Because of this I believe

in God. In Genesis 2, God created Adam and Eve. God has a relationship with Adam and Eve. In

the movie, Eli had relationship with a higher power. In Genesis 3, evil was in the world. In the

movie, Carnegie killed George and Martha.
