The Application of Data to Problem-Solving

The issue I'm trying to solve is that my present hospital can't get patient data from other health care providers on time. To provide the best possible treatment, patients are referred to the clinic by their primary care doctors or other institutions. Topaz & Pruinelli (2017, p. 55) discusses the importance of having precise, timely, relevant, and verifiable data when deciding on a treatment objective. Delays in getting complete records to physicians before a patient's visit caused this hole to appear in the system. There is a risk that tests will be run needlessly if current documentation is unavailable, which might affect the purpose.

As a nurse leader, I would apply clinical reasoning and judgment to improve patient care, increase communication, and operate more effectively. As a result, I think a risk-benefit analysis may be necessary. There should be fewer limits on what is required to seek and obtain patient records in my facility. There are alternative ways to secure patient information than amending the legislation. The development of a universal electronic medical record system that all hospitals could access in real-time or blockchain technology. It has been reported that patients may automatically provide access to other institutions and gather their medical data via Blockchain (Yaeger et al., 2019). Whatever the future holds, it's apparent that my facility isn't the only one dealing with these problems right now. When trying to come up with a solution, we should put the well-being of those around us first.
