Term Project Requirements and Guidelines

SCOPE
Your group is to propose either a GA airport or FBO fully operational, well
thought out business plan and development. An in depth examination of all GA
business functions will be the foundation on which your research will rest.
You will apply all of the airport management tools learned throughout the semester
into an in-depth analysis of the proposed GA airport or FBO.
Below are the guidelines for groups to follow in preparing the GA airport or FBO
research presentation and Executive Summary. Include within your executive
summary paper all of the outlined information as well as any additions that your
group finds helpful for delivering a quality analysis. So, your paper should include,
but not be limited to the following:
PROCESS 1. Group selection - Groups are to be self-formed, composed of at least 4 and not
more than 6 members. Submit a Group Selection Sheet at the end of class and
include:
1. Individual group member names. What each member will contribute to
the project.
2. A group wide name such as "Aero FBO".
At this point, groups should be well within the research and development
phase of the project.
2. Progress report – What will the group present (GA Airport or FBO Business
Plan, Model etc…) Description of what will be researched (the conceptualized
trade agreement) and the group’s motivation for this choice (why this will make a
good case). Each group must use the textbook as a guideline and the appendices at
the back of the book as well. This will help you formulate the verbiage. You must
also use other references!!

3. Final paper submission - The paper is due on the day the group presents to the
class. This will include an Executive Summary; however if there are business
plans, models etc…this must be included in the Group Paper! Follow syllabus for
APA required style!!!! NO EXCEPTIONS!
Package the final document in a spiral binding only or similar item. The finished
product should include the presentation printed out, and any other pertinent
information that is related to the project for example “business model or plan
etc…”. Grading criteria for the final paper will be discussed in class.
References – Citations can include web based sources such as government
published statistics and estimates where no reliable data has been published.
Academic and non-academic sources can be used as well.
Optional attachments (Appendix) – Graphic or visual aids may be used where
such additions add value or aid in clarification of a point. These may be referenced
as an appendix.
Required attachments – Presentation, business model or plan, and the group’s
input collectively. In other words, what did each member contribute to the project?
