five scholarly secondary sources, which sources are not assigned in this course. You must use three scholarly secondary sources, which are peer-reviewed journals or law reviews. (Use Google Scholar as a good search engine.) Non-scholarly sources are magazines, newspapers, web sites (unless you have received approval from me), Wikipedia and anything like it, and other popular media. You can cite such non-scholarly sources, but they will not count toward the required scholarly sources.

● Use the Chicago style for citations. Use footnotes, not endnotes or in-text citation.

● Grammar, style, and spelling will all count, in addition to the substance of your analysis and explanation.

● Must include a cover page and a reference page

Term paper topic : Feminist criminology and the US legal/justice system

How are women criminals treated within the legal system? This topic will discuss how women and girls are criminalized when it comes to

crime.

Topics to be discussed:

- Why do they act the way they do when it comes to commiting crimes? - What are the reasons that they are commiting crimes? - How are women treated in the courts, are they given the same treatment as

men? - When women are arrested and charged for prostitution, when they should be the

victims and recieve help.

Questions to be answered: - Finding the results of reseach that criminilogosts have conducted about this

topic. Will these findings help show that there must be a change within the legal system and how they treat the different genders?

- What do women/girls have to say about how they have been treated within the hegal system in certain situations?

- Were they treated as the criminals in situations where they were the victims or could not leave that certain situation.

- Is there ever a sense of male power in the system?
