This should be an experimental design (think about chapters 1-3; A causes B, or When A happens, B is likely to happen). 

examples of experimental studies: 

Doing Yoga decreases stress levels 

Playing violent video games increases aggression in kids, etc. 

Write a literature review analyzing previous studies that have analyzed your research topic (using approximately 3 scholarly peer-reviewed articles (such as Googlescholar.com); be sure to highlight the main points of each study, such as the number of participants, methods used, and findings). This section should be a significant portion of your paper.

-After reviewing literature, devise a hypothesis and explain the methods that you plan to use (i.e, Hypothesis: Children will exhibit ADHD symptoms after being exposed to an excessive amount of sugar)

1)identify an independent and dependent variable

2)number of participants that you will be using for your study

3)how you plan to gather participants (e.g., stop students at the door of Wilmington University, recruit people by passing out flyers at a local church)

4)what treatment will the experimental group receive (review your book for this information; e.g., remember with an experimental  design, the treatment group has to receive something- such as 10 minutes of yoga per day) 

5)what treatment will the control group receive  

6)How do you plan to study the effects (i.e., double blind procedure; again, review the text to find out which study design would be best for you). 

7) Critique your research         

- what are confounding factors that may affect the validity of your results? How do you plan to negate this?
