Term Paper Assignment Information

Each student will develop and submit a research paper (with the body at least 12-20 full pages in

length, double-spaced, using the college specifications for term papers) providing a substantive

analysis on the future of one of the following topics, or a technological aspect of one of these

topics:

1. Information Technology Management 2. Project Management 3. Software Design & Programming 4. Database Design & Administration 5. Web Design & Development 6. Broadband Networks & Telecom Technology 7. Information Systems Security 8. The Future of AI in Organizational Applications 9. Ethics Issues in Information Systems 10. The Future of Broadcast TV & Radio 11. The Future of the Smart Phone 12. The Evolution of Wearable Technology 13. How IT can help reverse Global Warming

Your paper is to be about the future of your chosen area. So for example, you could choose the

database design and administration topic, and focus on the evolution of this technology. You

would be looking at the future of database technology, data centers, cloud computing, and the

resource software that makes these things work. You are expected to state your opinion about

the future of your chosen topic, and support it with evidence and logical analysis. Each

student will submit their Term Paper during the last week of the class and will lead a brief

discussion of the issues within the Term Paper.

The term paper should represent the highest degree of professionalism and quality. Your paper

should follow the formatting and style guidelines specified by University College, including use

of the Turabian publications manual for language use, citations, and basic formatting. It should

include a full title page, abstract (200 words or less, which is longer than the college standard),

introduction, body, conclusions, and reference list. More information about formatting and style

can be found on the UCOL Format & Style Requirements page here.
