Term Paper

The final paper is 25% of your final class grade. Throughout the term you submitted three (3) topic papers allowing you to explore in-depth the topics discussed in readings and in-class. Each topic paper covered a different section of the textbook: parts one (Business, Society, and Stakeholders), part two (Corporate Governance and Strategic Management Issues), and part three (Business Ethics and Leadership). The final term paper will combine all of your research and include a recommendation for future company initiatives relative to external stakeholders, ethics, and sustainability from the fourth section of the textbook. To finish out the semester, a presentation of your overall findings will also be required.

Reviewing the topics you covered this term, choose one of the companies we explored this term. Your paper should include the company information from Paper One: Business, Society, and Stakeholders, the information in Paper Two: Corporate Governance and Strategic Management Issues in which you investigated a strategic management matter, and Paper Three: Business Ethics and Leadership, in which you examined business ethics by applying course concepts to a scandal as identified in the below chart.

The term paper must also include external stakeholders and section four from your textbook. This is an MBA course, your final term paper will draw from research and literature beyond those readings already assigned to the class. In the Final Paper and Presentation you will combine your learnings from papers 1-3 and add an additional section on external stakeholders, company analysis, and managerial recommendations. Potential topics for recommendations in the paper can range from public policy, consumer stakeholders, the environment, and/or the local community.

Before combining your papers and submitting, be sure to review the feedback in the first three papers and make the appropriate edits. At times, additional information/research will be necessary. Use the resources of the library and learning center as needed. Most importantly, apply the ethical theories learned in your textbook to this paper. This will aid you in the future in job interviews and internships.

APA guidelines must be followed in the preparation of the paper. The paper must be 10-15 pages in length not including the title page, abstract, and references which all must be included. If images are included, use proper APA guidelines and they are not to be included in the total page length of the paper. The term paper must draw from research and literature beyond those readings already assigned to the class.
