Assignment 3: Executive summary

Deanna Buchanan

Southern New Hampshire University

Executive summary

The functional area is in a University setup. The college office administrator has a role in the smooth running of the college and supporting the overall management of the university. Reporting to the College office administrator is the executive director of alumni relations who implements programs that provide opportunities to alumni, promote relations, and enhance allegiance. Below the executive director is the associate director who takes a role when the director is not within the institution. Under the associate director is the data manager who is the custodian of all information concerning alumni in the institution. Data manager organizes and classifies and oversees the data systems in the institution (Meltzer, 2019). The student intern supervisor is under the associate director of the institution and oversees an internship as well as providing a job description to the interns.

Firstly, to fit the job descriptions, the professionals require academic and management credentials. They also are a skill for the effective running of the functional area. The top three positions require a bachelors degree in management. Secondly, the data manager requires experience with big data, while an intern supervisor requires experience in careers and personal development (Moses et al., 2019). The functional unit is Alumni affairs in the institution, and the major value of the functional area is job placement, and analyzing internship reports in the job market (Meltzer, 2019). The school mission is to transform the lives of learners each day, and the success of its leaners defines that success of the institution. Therefore, the functional area transforms the lives of learners through finding internship and overseeing job description.
