Conclusion

The issue of technology as stated above has both positive and negative impacts on students and the higher education institutions as a whole. Personally, as a student, technology has dramatically helped me in my education. It has made my work easier as I can make my study plans very neat and efficiently as well as it has greatly help me set study reminders. Besides, communication has been made easier by the use of technology. I can now contact my friends and classmates through phone calls, text messages or the various social media platforms above all we can form discussion groups and discuss online as well as consult our tutors. If I were made a higher-ranking professional ion any higher education institution, I would uphold the use of technology in education because technology makes work easier and faster for both students and tutors in the institutions (Kirkwood& Price, 2014). Through technology, students can undertake e-learning where the tutor can send notes and guides through the internet and students will be able to read and even do their examinations online then the tutor would mark and submit the results online as well. This would save on time thus making learning faster and easier. Technology is essential to all aspects of human life. Therefore, education is not an exception (Kirkwood& Price, 2014).

Tennessee University has a mission statement that states, ‘fosters scholarly inquiry and research’ (Williams, Morrell & Mullane, 2014) this is possible through the use of technology in higher education as a student can readily inquire and do research through the internet. Its vision statement also promotes the use of technology as the university aims at achieving national and international prominence and building on its heritage and preparing leaders for a global society (Williams, Morrell & Mullane, 2014). The global community uses technology in most of their life activities, and for one to reach many people nationally and internationally easily and fast, they can use technology, i.e., the internet. Therefore, by using technology, Tennessee university can achieve their vision by using technology. In the next ten years, almost all higher education institutions will advocate for the use of technology by both staff and students because the benefits overweigh the downfalls.

Hello, Deanna,

I think this is a great outline for your conclusion. Pertaining to the personal impact, I think it is a great start that you have. However, I feel it can expand even more with an issue of technology. The integration of technology has definitely advance higher education to a new level, so there is definitely more you can include concerning your personal impact. Sections B and C have good depth to them through your references and explanations- nice! The last section regarding a future prediction needs to be expanded as well to include reasoning and possibly the impact the evolution of the issue will have on you personally (which is the example given in subsection D). I think a future prediction section should have some sort of reference to back up your prediction. Currently, it is just the last sentence of your paragraph on the mission of Tennessee University and it is missing a transition. Hope this helps and I’m sure your paper with be awesome!

Hi Deanna, great start with your conclusion. It think going into more detail in the section for addressing the issue. What changes would you make to further implement technology into courses. What learning platforms would you recommend if your institutions was planning on expanding to online? Also, I think you may want to add more information to the future of the issue.  What advancements to you see happening with technology that will move higher education forward? Do your foresee anything that would not benefit higher education with it comes to technology?
