Title of Your Paper
This is where you provide an introductory paragraph. Introduce your paper in a scholarly way. Provide at least 4-5 sentences here that give an introduction to your final report. Read the Single Subject Design journal article (Reddy and colleagues, 2014) that I posted for you in the unit 13 folder. Look at the very first page: p. 373. The introductory info provided on this page is a great example of how your introduction should look. Use this as a guide to write your intro section. You may copy and paste this section directly from your proposal. If you were told to make changes to this section from your proposal, then make those changes.
Sample
Your response should describe the sample (YOU are the sample and must minimally present information about your age, gender, race, and any other aspects that may be relevant to this study). You may copy and paste this section directly from your proposal. If you were told to make changes to this section from your proposal, then make those changes.
Problem
In this section you will describe the problem you want to address in as much detail as you can. Begin this section by clearly stating: “The problem is___.” Beginning this way lets me know that you are fully aware of what the problem is. You may copy and paste this section directly from your proposal. If you were told to make changes to this section from your proposal, then make those changes.
Consequences of the problem
Here, you will share two consequences of the problem and you will support your claims with scholarly peer-reviewed references. You also need to include how the problem affects some aspect(s) of your life. You may copy and paste this section directly from your proposal. If you were told to make changes to this section from your proposal, then make those changes.
Intervention
What was the original intervention supposed to consist of (This is the intervention as discussed by previous authors)? How did the actual intervention vary from the original plan? (How did you tweak the original intervention and make it fit for your study)? If it changed, when did it change and why did you change it? If there was even a small change in the intervention, you must discuss it here. If you conducted it as planned, what do you think contributed to your ability to carry out the intervention in the proposed manner?
Measurement
Instrument identification
How will you measure your progress? That is, what instrument (survey, scale, OR questionnaire -these words all mean instrument) did you use to measure the effectiveness of your intervention? Specifically, from the 2-peer reviewed studies that you just wrote about in the Evidence to Support the Intervention section of your PROPOSAL , how did the authors of those 2 studies measure progress? What is the range of scores for the instrument you are using? What are the psychometric properties of your instrument? Psychometric properties refer to the validity and reliability of the measurement tool. Before being able to state that a questionnaire has excellent psychometric properties, meaning a scale is both reliable and valid, it must be evaluated extensively. Go to the back of your textbook and locate all areas where it mentions validity and reliability and read those sections. Make sure you read the Single Subject Design journal article (Reddy and colleagues, 2014) that I posted for you in the unit 13 folder. The article is a report of a single subject design. Consider locating additional single subject designs on your intervention of interest. In retrospect, do you believe this was the most effective way to assess the intervention? If not, what would have been a more effective way to assess the intervention?
Measurement points
You must provide both a table and a graph of all measurement points you collected. Both the table and graph must include the date and the score on your measurement instrument. The graph must be a line graph similar to that shown on p. 89 of your text. Be as specific as possible and keep in mind that you must have at least 7 data points (*2 baseline data points before the intervention begins; 4 intervention data points; 1 post intervention data point=7 data points) as noted above.
Please see these 3 examples below
Example 1:
Example 2:
Example 3:
Assessment of Intervention
Based solely on the measure you used, was the intervention successful? What evidence is there to support your perception?
Secondary Benefits
Did you receive additional benefits from conducting the intervention, regardless of whether the intervention was effective based on the measure you used? If not, do you think you would receive any secondary benefits if you were to change the intervention and/or measures? If you did receive benefits, what were the secondary benefits and why do you think you received them?
What would you do differently or the same
Identify a total of 3 things you would do differently or the same with this SSD. Why would you do them differently or the same? Make sure you talk about 3 things. I will count them (Be very clear by stating: “The first thing…. The second thing… and Lastly I learned…).
Lessons Learned
Identify three things you have learned in conducting interventions and measuring them and how each will assist you in your practice with clients. Make sure you talk about 3 things. I will count them (Be very clear by stating: “The first thing…. The second thing… and Lastly I learned…).
Self-care lessons learned
Identify at least 2 things you have learned about self-care in the course of completing this assignment and how they are relevant to your future social work practice and/or your life in general. Make sure you talk about 2 things. I will count them (Be very clear by stating: “The first thing…. The second thing… ).
Conclusion
This is where you provide a concluding paragraph. Conclude your paper in a scholarly way. Provide at least 4-5 sentences here that give a conclusion to your final report. Read the Single Subject Design journal article (Reddy and colleagues, 2014) that I posted for you in the unit 13 folder. Look at page: p. 376. The concluding info provided on this page is a great example of how your conclusion should look, but you must include at least 4-5 sentences. Use this as a guide to write your conclusion section.
