Dear Future Self:

For the purposes of this class, we will use block formatting for your letter to yourself while also using APA format for the required citations and references. There are many different variations for writing a business letter and the APA does not specify how to write a letter.

To simplify matters, use the block format as demonstrated in this template. Use single spacing and double-space between paragraphs. Consider this template an overall guide as you address the assignment requirements. Do not deviate from the template format; failure to use this template may result in your assignment being returned to you.

Your overall format for this letter is to use one-inch margins on all sides. Use the conventions noted in the bulleted list below. (Although bullets are used for your ease of reading, they should not be used in this letter.) Include the following style elements in this letter:

1. An APA style cover page

2. Block format

3. One-inch margins on all sides

4. Times New Roman 12-point font

5. Pages numbered in APA style

6. APA-style headers

7. Date, followed by a skipped line (see above).

8. Skip a line before your greeting and follow with a colon (see above).

9. Single-space the body of your letter, as exhibited above and double-space between paragraphs.

a. Include citations as required in APA style for in-text citations

b. Write in first person point of view and second person point of view as appropriate with APA style

10. After writing the body of your letter, note a closing, followed by four spaces and your name.

11. Include a separate reference page in APA style.

You should use Level 1 and 2 headers to address the requirements of this assignment. Be sure to include an introductory paragraph briefly noting the purpose of this letter. Conclude your introduction with a thesis statement at the end of your introductory paragraph, noting your claim for how you might address your own critical thinking endeavors.

As you move into the body of your letter, use the following sample Level 1 and 2 headers to address the requirements of this essay.
