Technology is an integral part of healthcare, and it’s as fundamental as it sets to revolutionize the practice of medicine and healthcare delivery globally. Notably, the technology has immensely improved and inducted the perfect efficiency in healthcare operations in response to medical care and professional standards. Arguably, the transformation has significantly improved the overall experience of the healthcare patient and professionals. It's worth noting that integrating technology into primary care in healthcare includes the application of various electronic procedures, which are critical in managing information regarding people's health and healthcare procedures in society (Shinners et al., 2020). It is fundamental to note that using technology can improve the quality of care and make healthcare delivery relatively cost-effective across the globe. Notably, the use of the technology is backdated from late 1950, and there is an indication that it has inducted tremendous change in the care sector globally. Thus, with the new and emerging technologies, the healthcare facility will be more operational, and patient care will improve exponentially increasing patient outcomes (Ngoie, et al.2021). The healthcare institution has also adopted and implemented new technologies to respond to the eternal changing regulatory environments to improve the overall care quality of the patient. Thus in the current global world, the care facilities are operated in high-tech operation, which puts the cutting edge technologies in the arms of the professionals. The essay aims to explain how technology has been applied to improve healthcare delivery and information management system.
The use of technology has enhanced the use of information and big data in the healthcare sector. Notably, the accessibility of the data through big data and artificial intelligence has become one of the fundamental hallmarks of the technological age. Herein, through the internet and data capture system, it's possible for the healthcare professional to rapidly shares information which enables the comprehensive synthesis and analysis of the data in the care facility. The application of big data in the healthcare sector allows the entire field to benefit from the research studies as they can attain more extensive data to improvise the meta-analysis. Technological innovation has been critical as it enables the medical professional to stay on the rock with the modern trend in the care sector and the dynamic techniques available to enhance perfect patient recovery and better outcomes (Dhagarra, Goswami & Kumar, 2020). The matrix enables the healthcare facility to plan effectively, organize, and allocate enough resources, improving the care delivery in the healthcare facility. Additionally, the application of big data and artificial intelligence makes it possible for healthcare professionals to acquire medical intelligence, which helps them in decision-making procedures. The platform enables the practitioner to house the patient medical history hence applied as the predicative tool to provide the recommendation on the specific illness and its treatment procedure.
Use of technology has been used to improve the line of communication hence improving the healthcare delivery and information management system. Technology has made communication between the healthcare provider and the patient easier. Moreover, the healthcare organization can insinuate better communication among the internal department, making the care delivery for the patient more radical. For example, through technological innovation, medical practitioners can use video and online discussion platforms to communicate and advance the sharing of notes, skills, and knowledge in their divergent departments (Dhagarra, Goswami & Kumar, 2020). The situation enables Interprofessional discipline, which improves the treatment and management of the patient in the care facility. Additionally, the healthcare practitioner can monitor the patient in a remote area using teleconferencing technology. The situation enables the patient and the practitioner to instate one-on-one communication and improve the relationship between the two the dynamic, which can fasten the healthcare recovery of the patient more radically.
The use of technology has promoted the use of electronic health records in healthcare facilities. Initially, it was impossible to obtain and retrieve patient data on time. However, with the introduction of modern technology, it has been relatively possible for the healthcare facility to acquire patient data easily, reducing the backlog of information from moving to the divergent department. The data transfer was causing the misplacement of the medical chart and crucial information, which were sensitive for the care delivery (Dhagarra, Goswami & Kumar, 2020). The patient's referral to other healthcare facilities has been tedious due to the lengthy process entailed in the file retrieval and filling. However, with the new technology and the introduction of the electronic health record, it has been easier for the healthcare provider and the patient (Siyal, et al 2019)Notably, the induction of the EHRs has centralized the storage of all patient data in centralized storage, which is faster and more accurate to obtain hence improving the care outcome. Concurrently, using the EHRs has impacted the faster, smoother, and easier medical bailing for the patient, improving the healthcare delivery and information management system.
Technological use has implicated telehealth and telemedicine in the healthcare sector. Most areas across the world are rural and have a shortage of healthcare providers. However, with the technology, it has been relatively easier to handle the patient in their remote area, making the care delivery so effective. The data indicates that most patient prefers to visit healthcare virtually (Harerimana, Forchuk, & O'Regan, 2019). Virtual care allows the patient to handle demand care without wasting time and the cost of in-person visits. Notably, the strategy has been cost-effective, and it helps to determine the patient who requires emergency attendance and assistance. For example, the psychiatrist can offer counseling through telehealth technology for patients unable to appear physically in the clinic. Concurrently through telecommunication, the healthcare practitioner can provide the essential education and training to the healthcare workers in the rural area and address the concern that the patient must adhere to agitate effective healthcare delivery and information management system.
The use of technology has facilitated the use of health apps in the healthcare sector. Notably, the digital revolution has resulted in to increase in the number of health care application apps. The apps have been critical in reassuring effective patient monitoring of their health and disease (Harerimana, Forchuk, & O'Regan, 2019). The technology ensures that it equips patients to access essential medical information regarding their healthcare. Additionally, through the use of digital apps, it’s possible for healthcare workers to quickly counter-check the results, the test, drugs, and medication hence inducing the effective recommendation, which is critical for patient recovery. Consequently, the apps can induce online education to the patient remotely. The technology is relatively cost-effective as it only requires the patient to have a smartphone and the internet to facilitate access to medical services. The technology has effectively integrated the healthcare delivery and information management among the patient and the healthcare practitioner hence improving the care delivery and information management.
Overall the use of technology has transformed and changed healthcare delivery comparatively across the globe. The transformation is expected to increase as innovation increases exponentially over the years. The application of technology has changed the traditional mode of medication across the globe, increasing the chances of recovery and better outcomes. The magic associated with the Electronic health record is so implicated, especially in how it has changed the access and obtaining of the patient record in healthcare. The technology has enabled healthcare to induct the quick recovery process and management of the patient and the healthcare management system, making the operation easier. The dynamic associated with the decision-making associated with the use of technology in healthcare cannot be underrated. Through technology, it has been relatively more straightforward for the healthcare practitioner to share a skill and acknowledge which makes them make the decision that betters the outcome of the patient during the care delivery. The technology's dynamic in the healthcare sector cannot go unnoticed in the short and long run for patient care delivery.
