The report is further aimed at helping the future generations to make prudent decisions based on this analysis since they will be able to unearth the advantages and the disadvantages of basic education which consequently aids their decision on the same.

The primary area of interest therefore will be to unravel the good side of education and also the bad side, with the sole aim of unraveling which side outweighs the other which will be crucial in aiding both present and future leaders to make prudent decisions now and in the future.
The significance or rationale of the study
The primary aim of the study is to unravel the importance of basic education and more so college education in order to find out whether or not there was a need for the general population to take up education (Advantages and disadvantage of studying at a community college | education - Seattle pi, n.d.). There is also a rationale for the study to find out some of the benefits that may be got from basic education and also the disadvantages that may also be got from the same.

The objectives of the study will include the following:
1. To find out the benefits of basic education and more specifically college education
2. To find out the disadvantages of basic education and college education
3. To find out the need for basic education
4. To discover how we can cope we the different challenges that may be got from education
5. To avert future challenges that may be got from education
Procedure
The procedure that will be used when investigating the topic will mainly involve the use of qualitative and quantitative analysis which will involve the use of publications, journals, internet sources and also the use of interviews and questionnaires in order to unravel the pros and the cons through substantiated and reliable sources (Msoroka, 2012).
After graduating from high school, many people are often caught up into the debate as to whether or not to proceed for college and despite the fact that a majority of the people makes the ultimate decision to proceed to college since there are perceptibly many advantages involved and it is also the most obvious choice after graduation (Alarid, Cromwell & Carmen, 2007). This does not however negate the fact that there are disadvantages involved as well.
Advantages
Some of the advantages that may be got from basic education and more so college education include the preparation for the tougher requirements of a job (Murphy & Eddy, 2008). The fact that jobs are changing rapidly and employees are looking for hires that are properly trained ultimately affirms the importance of college education.
The other advantage is the pay since a college graduate will ultimately get a higher paying job compared to one who never went to college (Shurtz, 2009). The other advantage is options since colleges provide flexibility in the programs which make it easier for graduates to get different skills at the same time and consequently more job options.
Disadvantages
One of the most notable disadvantages is the expensive nature of colleges which prompts some to take up loans and also make it difficult for some to pursue their desired courses despite their interest (College education - ProCon.org, n.d.). The other disadvantage is that there are so many people currently taking up education and so the opportunities for jobs are diminishing making it not necessary to take up college education like it was in the past (Wang, 2011). The other disadvantage is that it delays the real world since there is so much time being spent on studies and therefore making leaving them with little or no time for other real life issues such as work, travel or volunteer.
In conclusion, despite the various disadvantages that may be brought about by education such as those of increased cost, the decreasing opportunities in education and the delays in the real world, the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages and this therefore implies that education is still one of the most prudent investments that can be made by any individual.
