NETWORKING: A KEY TO SUCCESSFUL TEAMWORK

A.     Consider the different teams presented in your reading assignment. How do the teams manage their team boundaries? What are the trade-offs between internal cohesion and external ties within each type of team? Support your discussion with at least two (2) external sources.

B.     Consider the list of common roles for team members which of these roles do you think you play in your own team or group? Why?

Response3(150 Words): Prepare on same topic Response2(150 Words): Prepare on same topic

Response1(150 Words): Classmate post Team boundary management majorly revolves around three aspects and each has its own importance. The foremost thing would be the design of the team and how it has to be formulated. There is a need to focus on the team and its members which could be done by selecting the one with the proper skillset and only then they can justify the role they have been assigned to. Moreover, it will become a lot easier to design the team but should bot be taken for granted and requires a thorough examination od the skillset fo the people employed for the team. (Appelo, 2010). It might be quite challenging to assign people to different tasks within the project and it will require dealing with diverse ideologies and assigning people to work based not only on their skill set but also on the nature of work they do.

Next, it is necessary to draw a clear line regarding the team and its internal and external relational links. Everyone in the team has to be assigned with their own tasks and must be given precise roles and responsibilities so that there are lesser chaos and a home team that they can always work on.

The last aspect is time and there is a need to put a lot of emphasis on it. It is always a good thing to preplan the time for the team so that they can focus on the long term and short term goals. This way they can prioritize their work and also the tasks based on their time frame and deliver high productivity. Active communication must be practiced within the team, and healthy relationships must be observed. (Staff, S. X., 2014). The trade-offs of internal and external ties are the cohesion that improves success while the external ties reduce. Healthy relationships within the team members will bring in good cohesion and also high productivity in the work they do. On the other hand, when the external ties are being strengthened, the team might start to fall apart and have issues.

The list of common roles for team members includes the implementer role, the finisher role, the role of a team worker, evaluator role, plant role, etc. I could say that I'm on the role of both a team worker and an evaluator as I have the specific skill set that was required and I also believe that in a team every member of it has to perform the role of team workers and also evaluate themselves and the work progress o the team. I was always on the edge perfecting the things and ensuring that there is precision, so the role of the evaluator justifies me in the team.
