Teacher New Comments for Redo the Assignment:

The Researching Reports (Module 6) and PowerPoint (Module 7) assignments are the base for your final project. If they’re not done correctly at this stage, your final project will be extremely difficult.

Most of your Researching Reports assignments need some additional work. There’s no point in doing them over unless I asked you to. I want you to take the comments I provided and the information below, and revise and resubmit your PowerPoint if necessary. (Read the end of this message for specific instructions about both assignments).

This is how your Researching Reports assignment should look:

1. Problem Statement – Often posed as a question, the issue is should Overbridge add either Wellness or FMLA (or a combination of both) to employee benefits package. The issue is not if they should add new benefits, they’ve already decided to do so. Now it’s a question of which, and that can be answered with primary research (employee survey) and secondary research (your additional research).

2. Purpose Statement – The purpose of this report is to determine which of the two benefits (or combo) Overbridge should add.

3. Research Questions – The first THREE research questions are from the primary research. Do not reinvent the wheel – take the questions from the survey that is in Module 10. The next two or three (or more) research questions will be based on your secondary research. That could be info on benefits of each or info on what other companies are successfully offering. What are the broadest questions that will give you the information you need?

4. Methodology – The first paragraph will be the primary research from the survey. You make take the info verbatim from the survey. Do not get into specifics, you want the broad overview of how the survey was conducted. (Detail on what employees preferred goes into the final report, not here). The second and/or third paragraph(s) will offer info on your methodology for your secondary research.

IMPORTANT: The secondary research questions should be the type of questions you’d ask to get the information you need to eventually make a recommendation on which benefit is best to implement. Make sure they’re broad enough to be useful, otherwise you’re asking questions that will give you data, but not enough to make an informed decision. Don't focus on the gender of the respondents or their age -- it makes no difference outside of using it for survey data in the report.

This is how it will work:

1. Researching Reports – I have graded these with comments. Put your efforts into the PowerPoint. (If your grade was low on Researching Reports, and you want to revise it, that’s fine too).

2. PowerPoint – Take the feedback I provided on your Researching Reports, edit your PowerPoint with the new information, and resubmit. I’ll give you till November 13, 2017 to revise the PowerPoint. If my comments don’t apply to your PowerPoint, no need to resubmit.

It is imperative that you get this right now, because your final project will sink without this base.
