Suggestions

Challenges and case(s) required to date: [1.1, 1.2B, 1.3A, 1.3B, 2.1B, 2.2, 2.5, 2.6, 3.1B, 3.2C, 4.1, 4.3, 4.4, and the Apple Case].

Missing challenge(s) and/or case(s) from your portfolio: Missing – the Apple case and Challenge 3.2. [As a reminder, any items missing represent an incomplete portfolio. Incomplete portfolios submitted at the end of the semester will result in a failing course grade. Also, you much respond to all of the questions asked within a challenge or case. If not, this will result in an incomplete as well.]

1. In general, you are off track bit. To get back on track, the following are some suggestions for you to consider.

2. For Challenge 1.2B, a better definition of a “marketing activities” is needed. Incomplete.

3. For Challenge 1.3A, you have to provide two items for each pairing in Part A and then, for each come up with a completely new product/service idea. You didn’t do this. Incomplete.

4. For Challenge 1.3B, can you come up with more than 13 ideas? Incomplete.

5. For Challenge 2.1B, provide a formal theory for your concept along with offering a more insightful main question. For each of your relevant questions multiple responses are required. Incomplete.

6. For Challenge 2.2, an in-depth explanation of the Expectancy Disconfirmation Model of satisfaction is needed. See the text. You are using the wrong model. Here, you need to provide a more detailed description of your strategy via the different stages of satisfaction. What are the expectations causing dissatisfaction? Do different expectations need to be associated via your marketing communications? How will you shape the experience to match with the expectations? What role will you play in the post-consumption stage? How does your strategy deal with a changing consumer? Be explicit. Etc. Incomplete.

7. For both Challenges 2.5 & 2.6, a detailed assessment of the underlying thinking obstacles related to the problem or innovation is needed along with offering ways to maneuver around them. What are the obstacles of thinking related to your marketing problem? Etc. See the text. Incomplete.

8. For Challenges 3.1B, you need better examples that are more explicit as to the types of power each company has acquired and how they are using it. Use the questions via Porter’s model to identify the different forms of power. Be explicit. Incomplete.

9. For Challenge 4.1, you need to provide a systematic means for identifying the most attractive segment(s) from the organization’s perspective. What you have provided doesn’t do this. If you can’t explain how to do this, how would you be able to conduct a segmentation analysis on the job or to be able to help someone else with the analysis? See the text for help. Incomplete.

10. For Challenge 4.3, you haven’t adequately explained the self-selection strategy. In addition, you haven’t provided good examples of the strategy and you need to provide a more detailed description of the strategy being implemented via the “value array” being offered and the individual differences per choice (e.g., content, prices) within the “value array.” Incomplete.

11. For Challenge 4.4, you haven’t explained what predictive analytics are and you need to provide examples of the software programs being used by companies. Incomplete.

12. In general, I would like to see you explore your questioning (thinking) at a deeper level.

13. To finish strong, I’ll need to see more of your thinking and the progression in your thinking. The progression will be evident through you illustrating your thinking agility to use the different forms of thinking via their concepts and to utilize them at a more detailed level.

14. I look forward to seeing more of your thinking.
