MSU provides many resources to ensure your academic success. This includes the tutorials that are located in both your syllabus and in the Course Materials area of LoudCloud.

Tutorials can be very helpful in learning new skills. After viewing the required tutorials for this Topic, which do you think is the most valuable and in what ways will you apply it to your academic career?

After reviewing the various tutorials, I believe that the best option for me to succeed will be the step by step video tutorials. I learn by seeing and hearing, so this is perfect for me. I believe this is the best choice for me because if I were to have questions or concerns on how to post something or what I need for an assignment, the video tutorial will show and tell me exactly what I need to do. I’ve struggled in the past with traditional learning methods because I literally need to see AND hear what I am doing. I often find myself reading my papers aloud or talk while I am typing. Through video tutorial will suffice my need to do this.

The tutorials provided for the students through LoudCloud are extremely useful into creating a sturdy infrastructure for accessing the proper information in order to continue learning. I myself toggled through the tabs with ease into finding answers to many questions I had. I will continue to start my academic weeks by first starting with the Syllabus located under the resource tab because just by viewing the calendar you would not be missing out on all the resources provided to take full advantage of completing your DQ's or assignments. I am extremely fresh with the format of LoudCloud, but I will familiarize with it quickly since its user friendly.

DQ-QUESTION 2:

After reading Chapter 1 in your ebook as well as other readings in Topic 1, discuss what sparked your interest most. Please provide specific examples from the readings. How will you implement these in your college career?

Response:

The thing that sparked my interest most were the topics of communicating goals with your employer and spending your time wisely. Most employers have a program that will help you with continuing your education because some will see the benefit of you getting your degree as a way to advance you in your career and being able to keep the hiring process in house.  Being able to spend my time wisely is very important to me.  I am a responsible father of three children, working on transitioning from the military, and trying to land a new career.  Some of the ideas in the textbook have been working for me.  I set aside at least 3 hour a day just for working on school, albeit it’s after I get everyone to bed but it is a start. I go over the syllabus at least every other day as well as checking the announcements a few times throughout the day so I don’t miss anything.
