Assignment 1- Case Study: Failure & Success at Digital
• This is an individual assignment
• You are requested to discuss the reasons of failure of a company that once was leading the market, and how other companies emerged and gained that
leadership, thanks to digital.
o Select one of these companies: Barnes & Noble, Kodak, Blockbuster, Nokia, Blackberry.
o Case study analysis and discussion
▪ Describe the company, the context in which they were market leaders and the reasons of their leadership in the market.
▪ Discuss critically:
• the factors that led the company to the loss of leadership position in the market, focusing on digital,
• how another company or other companies in the sector leveraged successfully on Digital to gain leadership in the same market
or disrupted it.
Ensure to explain the factors for failure of the selected company and the factors of success of the new leader(s).

• The format of this assignment is a report, that should be uploaded in pdf.

• The in-text References and the Bibliography must be in Harvard’s citation style.
