Response 1
It is factual that the scientific management theory helps improve the efficiency of work flows. It was developed by Frederick Taylor in 1856 and based on supporting research Taylor aimed to improve the efficiency of factory workers by developing a system that involved breaking down complex tasks into smaller parts (Kaur et al., 2020). This method of management was known as scientific management. Taylor's principles have become widely used in today's working environment. Resulting from the increasing number of employees who enjoy working together (Kaur et al., 2020). Though the scientific approach has presented working environments with the needed systematic approach to training and employee selection procedures, efficient workplaces, and imposed a systematic ideal to organizational operations; it also faced challenges (Kaur et al., 2020). Some of the most critical being loss of personal initiative as well as autocratic control. These are essential to consider as they directly impact the efficacy of the management strategy.
Response 2
The appreciation of administrative management is supported as the duties of an Administrative Manager are to ensure the organization's operations are carried out effectively and efficiently (Khorasani & Almasifard, 2017). Moreover, they are responsible for making sure that the organization operates smoothly. It is also critical to note that their objective is to achieve financial goals while reducing the budget expenditures. Finally, one of their key responsibilities is marketing, which involves sending out newsletters and social media updates (Khorasani & Almasifard, 2017). Though the research on administrative management was a comprehensive and offered an appreciation of the position and its expectations, it would have been beneficial to also include their limitations. The notion addresses factors like the limitations presented by formal restrictions. In other words, leadership approaches to most issues are not applicable as they focus on informal strategies.
