Assignment 1 – Individual Research Paper (20%)

There are many emerging trends happening in the events and meetings industry.  Your task is to research a topic discussed in class or of interest to you that is related to a current trend in meetings and events. For example, your project could focus green meetings (eco-friendly), technological advancements in meetings, the impacts of COVID-19 on the conventions and meetings industry, Incentive travel for business etc. You have the option to either create a brief presentation or write a report on this trend. 

For this project, please choose one of the following options:

· Create a short 3-minute video describing your research topic

· Design a series of PowerPoint slides about a specific trend in meetings

· Present a hand-drawn storyboard describing how this trend has developed

· Write a 700-word essay (3 pages) about your research topic. Visuals may be included in your written essay to enhance the look of your paper. Proper essay structure is required with APA references

All submissions must be supported with research and references.  This project is to be completed in English and is an individual assignment. Plagiarism will account for a grade of zero.  I encourage you all to consider the topics discussed in class and if you have any questions about your assignment, please email me!
