1. NCLB was not explicitly framed as a jobs policy, though it likely served to reduce the pressure on politicians to develop other jobs policies. Explain why NCLB was not an effective policy for increasing the number of jobs or increasing employment.
2. Policymakers in DuBois’s era also characterized education as a solution to economic woes for Black Americans (even though “separate, but [not] equal”). What would DuBois say in response to this assertion? How would his response be similar to or different from Anyon and Greene’s?
