Assignment 3 – Individual Research Project (25%)

The purpose of this assignment is to develop a detailed travel itinerary for a client.  This must adhere to a budget that is less than 15,000 RMB. You can create a video or PowerPoint presentation but please include a brief paper explaining your itinerary, budget, and the research conducted (less than 500 words). Please choose one of the following options:

Option 1 -  You are a receptive tour operator planning a trip for a client arriving from Canada to China.  They have only 7 days to visit and want to see as much as possible while travelling around China.

Option 2 -  You are travel agent planning a trip for a client. They have only 7 days at this new destination outside of China. Your task is to book a complete travel package for them, from the beginning to the end of their journey.

Key Considerations (depending on your topic)

•      Remember the 5 Tourism Sectors when planning the client’s itinerary & budget

•      Where will they stay, what will they eat, what attractions will they visit?

•      What transportation methods will be used during the trip and what will it cost?

·      Who is your client (demographic information)?

•      Remember the importance of product & service matching and explain how your package will meet the needs & wants or your traveler.

•      Think about experiential travel and popular industry trends. What is the purpose of your client’s trip (business or leisure)?

•      Include your references (websites used for your research)
