Hercules Captures Cerberus  1 Postquam flumen Stygem auxilio Charonis transiit, Hercules in sedem ipsius Plutonis 2 venit; ab eo petivit, ut Cerberum auferre sibi liceret. Pluto, qui de Hercule famam 3 audiverat, eum benigne excepit, et facultatem quam ille petebat libenter dedit. 4 Imperavit tamen Herculi ipsi, ubi res imperatas ab Eurystheo fecerat, Cerberum in 5 Orcum rursus reducere. Hercules hoc ei pollicitus est, et Cerberum, quem non sine 6 magno periculo manibus prehenderat, summo cum labore ex Orco in lucem et ad urbem 7 Eurysthei traxit.  8 Ubi eo venerat, tantus timor animum Eurysthei occupavit: cogitavit se ex regia 9 fugiturum esse; postquam autem se ex timore receperat, multis cum lacrimis obsecravit 10 Herculem, Reduce sine mora illum monstrum in Orcum!  Sic contra omnium 11 opinionem duodecim illi labores, qui Herculi dati erant, duodecim annis a Hercule 12 confecti sunt; his laboribus confectis, Hercules tandem sua virtute liberatus magno 13 cum gaudio Thebas rediit.
