Matthew 12:9–14

And departing from there he came to their synagogue.

And behold a man with a withered hand [was there].

And they asked him saying, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to heal?” so that they might accuse him.

And he said to them, “What man of you who shall have one sheep, and if this [sheep] should fall into a pit on the Sabbath would not seize it and raise it? Therefore, how much value does a man have than sheep?”

So it is lawful on the Sabbath to do good.

Then he says to the man, “Stretch your hand and he stretched, and it was restored whole just as the other.

And the Pharisees took counsel against him so that they might destroy him.

Mark 3:1–6

And he entered again into the synagogue.

And a man was there having a withered hand.

And they watched him [to see] if on the Sabbath he would heal him.

And he says to them, “Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil; to save a life or to kill?” But they were silent. And looking around them with anger, being grieved at the hardness of their hearts,

he says to the man, “Stretch the hand,” and he stretched and his hand was restored.

And the Pharisees having gone out immediately with the Herodians were giving counsel against him so that they might destroy him.

Luke 6:6–11

And on another Sabbath he entered into the synagogue and taught.

And a man was there and his right hand was withered.

And the scribes and Pharisees watched him [to see] if on the Sabbath he would heal, so that they might find [reason] to accuse him.

But he knew their thoughts, and he said to the man having the withered hand: “Rise and stand in the middle.” And having arisen, he stood.

And Jesus said to them, “I ask you, is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save a life or to destroy?” And looking around at all of them,

he said to him, “Stretch your hand. And he did, and his hand was restored.

But they were filled with fury and discussed with one another what they might do with Jesus.
