!  Why brushing teeth before bed is essential in preventing dental carries? !  Explain how the oral flora ferments sugar stuck

between teeth and in the process releases acid. !  Fermentation

!  The acid breaks down the enamel. !  Name some of the bacterial species commonly found

in the oral cavity that are known to ferment sugars. !  Therefore, microbes are responsible for causing tooth

pain and bad breath.
