Delivery and Terms

1. This is NOT a self-paced course. Your instructor has assigned deadlines for speci!c assignments as shown in the course schedule. 2. This is a self-paced course, which means that you may work at your own pace during the course, but you MUST complete all coursework on or before the last day of

class. To help you meet this requirement, your instructor has provided a recommended course schedule. Refer often to the course schedule and the course calendar to stay on task.

3. This is a blended course. This means that you may be required to meet in a classroom or other location at speci!ed times throughout the course. Some coursework will be accomplished online in Blackboard.

4. This is a face-to-face course. Your instructor may or may not choose to use certain parts of Blackboard to facilitate the course. Ask your instructor for speci!c information regarding the use of Blackboard for your course.

Assignments

Freshman English can be a di#cult course even for the on-campus students in a structured environment. As an internet course, it will demand even more from you in terms of motivation, perseverance, and hard work. Your grade will be based solely on your e"orts, so it is up to you.

Turning in Assignments

You are required to use word processing software in order to complete your essays for this course. Whether you use Microsoft Word or some other word processor, save your essays as .doc !les (not .rtf as these are not compatible with the system). Doing so ensures I will be able to open and read your document. You will turn in your essays using the assignment links provided within this course. Do not email your essays to me. I will not accept them.

You agree that by taking this course all required papers, exams, class projects, or other assignments submitted for credit may be submitted to SafeAssign to review and evaluate for originality and intellectual integrity. You cannot use an essay that was previously used for a di"erent course section. All of your essays for the ENGL 1301 course must be original for the purpose of this course that you are currently taking. You understand all work submitted to SafeAssign will be added to its database of papers. You further understand that if the results of such a review support an allegation of academic dishonesty, the coursework in question, as well as any supporting materials, may be submitted to Central Texas College o#cial representatives for investigation and possible initiation of disciplinary proceedings.
