There are no prerequisites for this course. However, the course material assumes students are familiar with basic probability and statistics. (Brief reviews of probability and statistics are provided within the course.)

Assessments

Assessment Expectations:
Due dates for assessments are noted in the course calendar below and in Canvas. Each is provided in the course under the Quizzes tab.
Minitab Quiz Expectations:
Each quiz will be provided online under the Quizzes tab. These quizzes consist of multiple choice questions based on the associated worksheet or Minitab exercise and related theory. Two attempts are allowed. Students are allowed 20 minutes to complete the quiz unless otherwise stated Students will be provided with a score and an indication of each question answered incorrectly. There will be a one day grace period on assignments and quizzes to allow for technical issues (Canvas down, scanner problems, flat tires, etc.) Quizzes will not be accepted after the one day grace period unless the instructor is notified of extenuating circumstances within two days of the due date. Collaboration on completion of worksheets or Minitab exercises is acceptable, but each student must take any quizzes without collaboration with other students.
Midterm and Final Exam Expectations:
These exams are proctored. See information in the Proctored Exam Policy. One attempt is allowed. The student will be provided with a score result and indication of each question answered incorrectly upon completion of the exam.

Assignments
Graded assignments:
Graded assignments are listed in the grading section of this syllabus and are in bold with due dates listed on the course calendar. Rubrics are provided for all graded assignments. Graded assignment worksheet will not be accepted after the one day grace period unless the instructor is notified of extenuating circumstances within two days of the due date. Collaboration is not permitted on graded assignments unless noted on the assignment instructions.
Non-graded assignments:
Assignments on the course calendar that are not graded are provided for you to practice the problems or further understand concepts. Students are expected to complete the non-graded assignments then self-check work with solutions provided in Canvas.
Case
The case utilizes the quality tools and statistics learned in the course in evaluation of a realistic scenario. The case will be performed in teams of 4 or 5 students. Students will be assigned to teams by the professor. Grades for individual team members may vary based on Team Evaluation information.
