Online Discussion Grading Criteria:

ONLINE DISCUSSIONS

Group Discussion Topics: There will be various assigned Discussion Topics throughout the semester. The weeks to complete assigned discussion topics start on Monday (12:00A) and end Sunday (11:59P). No points will be awarded for early or late entries. Your Discussion Post must occur during the week the Discussion is scheduled.

Group Discussion Expectations:

· Response to the assigned topic:

· Provide your personal opinion and reaction to the topic. In other words tell me what you initially think about the topic (3 points)

· Then reformulate your response (argue with yourself a bit about your personal biases) based on what you are learning in the text, assigned readings, and/or other literature to support your response (3 Points) and provide references (1 Point)

· Respond to something someone else posted:

· Do one of the following: (3 Points)

· Provide new/additional information (literature, resources, expert opinion, etc.) that relates to the person’s post, AND/OR

· Share an alternate view/perspective that relates to the person’s post, AND/OR

· Share an incident/experience that relates to the person’s post
