Selecting a Company

Name of company: Abercrombie & Fitch

Industry: Retail

Brief history of company: David T. Abercrombie established the organization's first store in 1892. It sold hunting and fishing hardware and was called David T. Abercrombie Co. lawyer Ezra Fitch purchased a bit of the organization in 1900, and the organization was authoritatively called Abercrombie and Fitch by 1904. Abercrombie, who the organization's set of experiences says was more "conservative," retired in 1907, and Fitch quit working in 1928. (Schlossberg, 2016)

At least 3 milestones from the company’s history:

 1909: Abercrombie & Fitch launches a 450-page catalogue, including product and narratives, an innovation at the time. The store experience allows customers to escape the bustle of the city and interact with nature.

 1988: Limited Brands acquires A&F and a new vision emerges for the brand. The customer experience is unique and offers the same escape from reality and sense of optimism as the brand did in its early history.

 2007: Abercrombie & Fitch opens its first European Flagship store in London Burlington Gardens on Savile Row.

Define 1 new unique business opportunity the company can do to increase their competitive advantage:

A business opportunity that the organization can do to increase their competitive advantage is international expansion. International expansion has been raised to something other than another test and has rather advanced into a genuine business need. An international presence can act as a strategic

boost that allows them to conquer reliance on homegrown business sectors while viably tending to their general market position.

Identify a function of management that is needed for this opportunity:

International businesses must be organized so that they can adjust to social and ecological differences. An international business should be coordinated so it very well may be receptive to unfamiliar clients, workers, and providers. A whole business may even be coordinated as one big worldwide organization that has a few divisions. Most importantly, the new association must build up an extremely open communication system where issues, thoughts, and complaints can rapidly be heard and tended to at all degrees of the board. Without this, employees won't get included, and their experiences and thoughts are urgent to the achievement of the business.
