URBS 310 – Sustainability Development of Cities Neighborhood Sustainability Assessment
Grading (15 points)
1. [Pass / Fail ] Cover: Does it have all required elements? Title, Photo, Name, Class Info?
2. [Pass / Fail] Table of Contents: Does the paper have the correct headings as specified in the TOC template (Be sure to add/include Natural Systems)?
3. [Pass / Fail] Introduction: Does it say what you are going to do, without any results?
4. [Pass / Fail] Summary: Short Summary of Entire Report
5. [Pass / Fail]: Recommendations: Short Bullet list of Recommendations
6. [1 points] After reading only the short Summary and the short Recommendations sections, do you have a complete picture of the sustainability of the neighborhood and needed improvements? (eg: No need to read the rest of the report?)
7. [1 points] Neighborhood Description: Map with boundary? Photos? Photo of you in the Neighborhood?
8. [1 points] Methodology Is the STAR Matrix Image present with cells circled or otherwise highlighted? Is there an explanation of how the chart works? You can find this under the matrix on the website.
9. [10 points] Sustainability Assessment Does each selected cell have two sub-headings: 1) Current Sustainability and 2) Recommendations to improve sustainability (short bullet or numbered list)? For each column in the STAR Communities matrix, does each column heading have a grade: [ H | M | L ]:? Is each selected cell of the matrix supported by facts, figures, photos? graphs, etc.? Are Citations provided for all assertions in the analysis section (APA or MLA style)? For each selected cell of the matrix, is the page laid out 1/3 text, 1/3 images, 1/3 white space?
10. [1 points] References: Note: References provide complete information on sources, so people can verify the Citations (short-cuts) which are provided in the Body of the Report and link to the References at the back of the report
