Abstract.
1. Shelby County V. Holder
Shelby County v. Holder, 570 US 2 (2013), is an important issue in the United States [1] relating to the constitutionality of two articles of the 1965 Voting Rights Act: Section 5, which requires some states and local governments to obtain federal clearance before any changes are made On their own voting laws or practices; and section 4 (b), which contains the coverage formula that defines jurisdictions that are subject to clearance on the basis of their history of voting discrimination.
2. United States V. Reese
United States v. Reese, 92 US 214 (1876), was a voting rights issue where the US Supreme Court interpreted the subsequent amendment to US Constitution No. 15, which states that citizens cannot be restricted to race, color or individual He was a slave.
3. Ohio voter purge Supreme Court case.
This was a case presented earlier this year, meant to do away with voter purging. Voter purging is a situation where, voters in Ohio can be removed from the voter registration, and have to vote again. The case failed, and the Supreme Court upheld Ohio’s system of purging voters.
