3. Three main goals to improve
* To complete “my dietary assessment”, please refer to your Reports files (online activity #6)
Q1: Evaluate your own “Food Groups and Calories” of two days in terms of Grains, Vegetables, Fruits, Dairy, and Proteins. It is important for you to evaluate both quantities and kinds of each food group, compared to your target (recommendations) by My Plate.
You don’t need to talk about them daily, but please focus on overall pattern (for two days).
Q2: Evaluate your own “Nutrients” of two days in terms of proteins, carbohydrate, total fat, saturated fat, sodium (from Minerals), calcium (from Minerals), added sugars, Folate (from Vitamins), and Vitamin B12 (from Vitamins).

For Question #1 information: recommended kinds of five food groups (you can find more detailed information from USDA MyPlate ppt – lecture on October 11)
Question #3
While some of you have a healthy eating style/habit, I believe that everyone has room for improvement. After evaluating your own food group and nutrients, please comment on the Top three main aspects / areas you need to improve on your current eating patterns, compared to the dietary recommendations. In responding to this question, please discuss your proposed plan for changing specific eating behaviors.
You also can click on “My Top 5 Goals” from My Plate website (“My Features” Tap) to get some tips, but do not cut and paste recommendations directly from that link. Please reflect your typical diet pattern and review your results from SuperTracker, and then come up with your own plan to improve your diet quality.
Note: In completing this online activity (my diet assessment), it would be helpful for you to review the USDA MyPlate analysis ppt (October 11) and “2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans” PDF document: Executive summary.
