Summary of Source of Essay

For the evaluation of the California night curfew, an article from The Guardian, “California’s Coronavirus Curfew:What are the rules and will it work?” written by Kari Paul was used. California has the highest population in the US. That increases the risk of transmission of the Covid-19 virus. Considering the increasing number of Covid-19 cases, the governor of California, Gavin Newsom, ordered a nighttime curfew in California as well as for all indoor social gatherings. That was meant to reduce the surge in infections of Covid-19 disease (Paul, 2020). The night curfew started at 10 pm and ended at 5 am. That would reduce the social gathering and fun activities that occur at night, thus reducing the spread of the virus in California. The curfew would be effective since the law enforcement officers would play a big role in ensuring that it is implemented. Thus, if any person was found outside during the curfew hours, they are liable to punishment.

EVALUATION OF SOURCE

The sources that have been used to write the essay are sources that indicate the significance of the presence of a juvenile curfew. Although the curfew that was imposed in California was not a specified juvenile curfew, it had a lot of positive effects for the juveniles and the young adults. Moreover, when writing the essay, the California curfew was used as a point of reference. The curfew was imposed in 2020 to reduce the spread of the disease in the state. The night curfew that was imposed in California is a good point of reference for the effects of the curfew on teens. California is one of the states in the US in which teens like having fun and going for night outs (Paul, 2020). That may have adverse effects on the teens as it may introduce them to some of the vices such as drug abuse and taking part in the crime. Consequently, they may become victims of other vices such as human trafficking. That indicates that the curfew would be very effective and it would have numerous positive effects on the teens.
