Writing Assignment 3 – Summarizing a Journal Article

Note: Prior to completing this assignment, you should review the following:

• Summarizing a Journal Article from an Outline (in the “Writing Assignment 3” folder on

Blackboard)

Using the color-coded summary in the “Summarizing a Journal Article from an Outline” document as a

guide, it is your turn to write a summary. Your summary should use Study 2 (ONLY) of the Sherman,

Haidt, and Cohen (2009) article and follow the format of the sample provided. Remember that your

summary should be in your own words.

You should use the comments on Writing Assignment 2 to help you with this assignment

Please note that while the example was in color-coded, large font, your summary should be in 12-point,

black, Times New Roman font.

You will need to do this and save it as a .doc, .docx, .rtf, or .pdf document, then submit it on Blackboard

in the “Writing Assignment 2” folder (which can be found in the Writing Assignments link) by 8:00 PM on

Friday, April 6, 2018. (Note: if you are using a Mac, it does not automatically put the file extension on

the name of your document. You must make sure that the extension, such as .doc, appears at the end

of the name or we will be unable to open your document).

Once you have submitted your assignment, please return to the same area to make sure the file was

uploaded. If there was any problem submitting your outline, please be sure to email it to Dr. K. ASAP

with an explanation of the problem you experienced. Dr. K. must receive it before 8:00 PM, on Friday,

April 6, 2018, however, in order for it to be accepted.
